Post 2018 SBC outdoor T&F Championships
The Sun Belt outdoor Championships take place this weekend from Friday through Sunday in San Marcos at the Bobcat Track & Field Stadium.

The women are going for their 5th straight combined championship between cross country, indoor T&F, and outdoor T&F.

The women won the title last year and the men finished 2nd.

The meet will be streamed on ESPN3.

Men's:
1. ULM - 21
2. Louisiana - 19
3. South Alabama - 18
4. Troy - 16
5. UTA - 14

7. Arkansas State - 10

Women's:
1. South Alabama - 51
2. Appalachian State - 31

Only 3 events scored for men and 4 for women today. Mostly prelims. Expect huge swings tomorrow. Texas States women's team is the favorite and isn't even on the board yet.

TWO conference championships this weekend for TXST athletics as the women's outdoor T&F team repeat as sun belt champs. Came down to the final event and the ladies won gold in the 4x400 relay to take the lead. Women win the triple crown this year (cross country, indoor T&F, outdoor T&F) and have now won 5 consecutive combined sun belt titles across those 3 sports.

Men also repeat last year's performance finishing in 2nd place.

7 women and 9 men will compete at the NCAA West Prelims in Sacramento this weekend. Top 48 in the region in each event were invited and top 12 finishers in Sacramento will advance to the NCAA championships in June. Meet starts on Thursday.

Also, Tramesha Hardy was named the women's sun belt track performer of the year for the 2nd consecutive year.

Jody Stewart was named SBC women's coach of the year. That's Stewart's 6th SBC coach of the year award in 3 years at TXST.

Both Johnson and the 4x100 team finished 18th at nationals.

Not high enough to get TXST on the scoreboard, but good enough for those 5 guys to get honorable mention all-american honors.

That closes the book on the 2017-2018 athletic year for TXST. Into the throes of summer we go.
