 Womens basketball
The bobcat women won both games on this homestand as well. Toshua Leavitt has nailed 23 of 37 three point shots over her last 3 games. I wish they had a true center though. Rebounding sometimes does them in but they do fight hard. E. May is a rebounding machine but is only 5'10". They are fun to watch and deserve more attention.

 Re: Womens basketball
Coach Antoine is really effective. She also stayed for the entire men's game cheering them on. I believe her husband is of staff, but she is at all the football games too. She is working her butt off for our program.

 Re: Womens basketball
Yes, she has done a good job. The 'Lady Cats have been to a post season tourney(WBI) 3 out of last 4 years i think. Just would like to see the ladies get past the 1st round, especially when we host that 1st round.

 Re: Womens basketball
yessir: http://txstatebobcats.com/news/2018/1/8 ... onors.aspx For the third time in the 2017-18 season, a Texas State women's basketball player has been honored by the Sun Belt Conference. Junior guard Toshua Leavitt has been named conference player of the week. "We are excited for Toshua," head coach Zenarae Antoine said. "Having the opportunity to be honored twice by our conference is special. This is great not just for our program but for all of our Bobcats supporters." Specifically for Leavitt, this marks the second time she has been named player of the week by the conference. Leavitt was also honored on Nov. 28 following tremendous outings against Texas Southern and Fresno State. Fellow teammate, Taeler Deer, brought home Sun Belt Player of the Week nods for her efforts in the win over Texas Tech in the first week of the season. ... The Missouri native has been torching the nets from the 3-point line lately, drilling 23 attempts in the last three games combined, including a school-record 10 made triples against the Chanticleers back on Dec. 31. Fast forward a handful of days, and Leavitt was at it again, this time canning six 3-pointers in the 78-63 win over South Alabama. In total, she tallied 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting. In Saturday's game against Troy, Leavitt was successful on her first seven 3-point attempts. She finished the game with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting and added four steals. Her efforts aided in the 83-75 Bobcat victory. In two combined games this week, Leavitt posted 25.5 points per contest while shooting 13-of-24 (56.5 percent) from behind the arc. She averaged three assists and two steals per game during that stretch. On the season, Leavitt has connected on 69 shots from behind the arc, averaging 4.60 makes per contest. Both figures lead the NCAA thus far this campaign. She is on pace to top the NCAA record for 3-pointers made per game in one season. Lisa McMullen currently holds the record of 4.50 makes per outing, setting the mark at Alabama State during the 1990-91 season.

 Re: Womens basketball
The women won again 67-55. The next game will be tough. Littlerock has won 34 of last 36 games in sunbelt conference games. Bobcats had both of the wins however so we'll see.

 Re: Womens basketball
Cats win both games in Georgia. Both games were close at the half but were blowouts at the end. The cats won 83-63 today against Georgia St. but were outrebounded 43-24. Leavitt hit 10 three pointers and had 34 points while Deer had 19 points, 14 assists and 5 steals. When those two are playing like that the cats are hard to beat.

 Re: Womens basketball
update on leavitt & ncaa records:
ncaa record 3pt/season: 129 toshua leavitt 2017-18: 116
ncaa record 3pt/gm/s: 4.5 toshua leavitt 2017-18: 4.64
not sure how records work, but i *think* post-season games count, so she should have at least 3 games to hit 14 3s.

 Re: Womens basketball
I've bashed women's basketball many many times here for a variety of reasons but I think this team is the best we've ever had at SWT/TXST. They are exciting to watch and have players that play with intensity and swagger. It's fun. I think they need a true post player to balance the great outside shooting they currently have. If they got an inside presence I think a good NCAA tournament appearance would be realistic...and maybe win a couple of games. That would be a HUGE boost to the program. Meanwhile, I think it's possible for this team to make the tournament but winning a game would be difficult.

 Re: Womens basketball
espn bracketology has only 1 sbc team in, so we'll need to win the tourney to get to the dance. espn has that team as a 15 playing a 2 in austin, vs texas, so maybe they feel like we're that team. http://www.espn.com/womens-college-bask ... acketologyualr (14) in columbia, sc http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/wom ... acketologyualr (15) in tallahassee http://realtimerpi.com/bracketology/bra ... Women.html
