 Re: Looking ahead....
Bobcats get their first conference win today, downing the Beach Chickens in Conway . . Mav loses to Apps to start conference 0-2. . . .. . Which is some kinda head scratcher.

Yes, it is a head scratcher. The Mavs are very good (or so I thought), but not overwhelming enough to take the competition for granted. They came out looking kind of flat.

 Re: Looking ahead....
I am a longtime grad student at UTA and from the area. It seems to me like the Sunbelt is intentionally overrating UTA's basketball teams maybe to help keep them in the conference. Since they do not have a football team, any athletics emphasis is basketball and the professional quality College Park Center Arena. UTA Men's loss to Texas State in the Sunbelt tournament last year knocked some of the luster off of the program. I think a lot of teams would like coach Scott Cross who is a solid guy and is surely only there because he is an UTA Alum. They went to the NIT last year and hosted and won a couple of games similar to what Texas State did in the CIT. I think with the size of the school (now over 40,000) and facilities and location they may be attractive to CUSA or AAC if one those conferences loses a member at some point.

 Re: Looking ahead....
Texas State is now #19 in the nation in points allowed per game, and #279 in points scored per game. Holy hell...if Kaspar could figure out how to create some offense, this could be a ranked team.

 Re: Looking ahead....
That has been a trait of most Kaspar teams, including Texas State.
If our offense could just get to "average" on offense, it could really become a dangerous team. We've seen hints in those handful of games where our offense played above itself.
It is also too early to place value on those statistics because our schedule strength is so awful.

 Re: Looking ahead....
Bobcats down the Jags tonight 72-69. With the win they move to 2-1 in conference play.

I'm alive. Got busy at work.
I'll tell y'all this though: I'm a superstitious man.
We're 0-4 in the last 4 D1 games when I've created the game thread and 3-0 in the last 3 D1 games in which I didn't create one or did after the game was over.
So....
Don't expect one for the Troy game tomorrow.
Preview: Watch out for Jordan Varnado and Wesley Person.

Preview: Watch out for Jordan Varnado and Wesley Person. Ha. I noticed the exact same thing. Please stay away from the game threads Hopefully y'all will be joining me in Strahan today! I'm bringing along a handful of new fans, hope we play well. Anybody know what's up with Gurley? Do we think it is safe for someone else to create the thread and should we just avoid game threads all together for now?

 Re: Looking ahead....
Stay away then X! Watching on Espn 3. Solid first half. Davis injury didn’t look too good. Hopefully nothing serious. Nottingham has had his ups and down replacing him. His game seems to not fit a Kaspar type offense lol. Hopefully we can put together a solid 20 minutes and get a three game win streak.
