Good weekend. While it may take CCU football a few years to get up to snuff, their other sports are, for most part, very good.

 Re: Volleyball 2017
HUGE transfer news: 6'2" setter Cheyenne Huskey transferring in from Florida (NCAA Championship runner up).
not sure what brings her back to texas, as she was getting plenty of playing time. 2 yrs eligibility remaining. impossible to overstate how big this is for the program to land a player of this caliber, from a program like florida.

 Re: Volleyball 2017
TXST volleyball adds University of Florida transfer for 2018Cheyenne Huskey set to join Bobcats after competing for NCAA national championship
Texas State volleyball coach Karen Chisum has announced the addition of Cheyenne Huskey for the 2018 season. The Columbus, Texas, native has already enrolled in classes at Texas State after transferring from the University of Florida, where she spent her first two collegiate campaigns. She can compete immediately and will have two years of eligibility remaining. "We are certainly happy to welcome Cheyenne to our Bobcat family," Chisum said. "Not only will she add to our depth at the setting position, but her blocking and attacking abilities are huge assets as well. Her experience at the next level is a plus as we continue our quest for the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championship." Huskey helped lead the Gators to a 30-2 record this past season, which included advancing to the NCAA Championship finals for just the second time in program history. The 30-win campaign was the first for Florida in 11 years. Huskey started in the championship match and finished the national tournament with 99 assists, 20 blocks, 15 kills and six digs. She posted double-digit assists in each of the last five matches of the NCAA tournament and had a match-high eight blocks against UCLA in the Round of 16. Florida won the Southeastern Conference both years Huskey was with the program and advanced to the NCAA Championship Second Round her freshman season. She played in nine matches in 2016 but took on a more prominent role this past campaign. As a sophomore, she played all 32 matches and made six starts. She was second on the team with 446 assists and led every setter in the nation with 113 blocks (1.07 blocks per set). She also compiled 64 kills on a .261 attack percentage and 37 digs. During her time at Columbus High School, she was named a 2015-16 Under Armour High School First Team All-American. She led CHS to the state semifinals in 2015 and was named all-state three times. She was a three-time first team all-district honoree and was twice named to the academic all-district team. She also competed as a high jumper on the track and field team. Huskey competed during her club career for Texstar and Houston Skyline. She went on to win the 2013 AAU National Championship and was named to the AAU All-Tournament Team. http://txstatebobcats.com/news/2018/1/2 ... -2018.aspx
