How about that!!!!!!!!!!! We stole him away from 4yr existing FCS powerhouse HBU. Look at the staff doing huge things this year!!! Get those unranked gems!!!

He also has an offer from Arkansas State....you know the team that has won the conference the past 5 out of the last 7 years...

Plus, he will now get ranked by 24/7 after staff evaluations. Not the first guy to commit to a school unranked.

Calallen is a very good program. They made the 5A DII championship last year. Their coach (Danahar) has the most wins of any HS coach in TX, ever. He was also just named to the THSCA presidency last week and I believe 2 of our coaches were at the convention. (saw on Twitter) Probably got the skinny on the kid there.

Here is something to keep an eye on. Early this week TXST could send out official offer letters and some recruits (non-commits) posted. This does indicate they are still interested and one is committed to UH.

Seth Caillouet (DE listed on 24/7)
Cameron Crayton (recent TXST offer)
Justin Wright (not on 24/7) Hudl lists him as MLB or OLB.
Malik Jackson (UH commit) but he tweeted "blessed" for offer.

Its not a lot of them posting but there were also commits that posted as well. Just wanted to clarify.

Another thing to notice is with commits Lynch 6'5/222 (rumor is he'll be a DE) and Trevor Lawrence 6'5/245 DE... you can tell we are going to size but height is another thing as well. Consider we signed Caeveon Patton, Daniels, Wilkins, and Awad... no one over 6'2 in last class. Gotta get bigger in every sense (taller, stronger). Smart move on coaching staff.

Also, the more and more I think about it... I'm convinced that Jakharious Smith will be a DE after seeing Kumonde Hines move from OLB to DE this year. Hines coming in was 6'3/208 listed and Smith is 6'3/210 (notice similarities in size). Of course, matters if Smith can add 15-25lbs by next season like Hines did. Considering how many of players added even more than 25lbs, I wouldn't bet against him doing the same. Also, consider Smith played with his hand down based on his highlights... sounds like a DE in the making. I'm thinking he'll likely redshirt.

You can't cherry pick like this.

From EW, "This big dude will fill a huge need for us on offense! "

Looks like he'll be utilized at TE

It seems the current theme for the coaching staff recruiting is 'panic and try to grab warm bodies'

Yeah, those 2star Morbley and Brewer were horrible signees last year.

Gotta get off the edge buddy. I can honestly see why you think this considering there are about 7 uncommitted TEs on 24/7 that we recruited. If they aren't showing any attention to us... why would we keep "hoping" they come around?

Point is you bring in guys that want to be here like Dean Taylor, Morbley, Brewer, and Hines from Wither's first class... They want to be here and commit to our core values and culture same as 2017 class that were 2stars.

Hey phrat, not sure why you have a beef with Withers instead of supporting decisions and a product that hasn't even been given a chance. You compared EW's recruits with previous coach's recruits but it wasn't the talent level, Fran recruited a lot of talent. It was his development of those players and ego driven decisions as a coach that cursed this program. It was, imo, a really great example of how you do the least with the most.

This place needed to be shaken up and if Teis doesn't get in the way, I'm personally excited as hell to see what happens over the next 3 years.

Yeah, it's not like some unknown kid who wasn't rated and had offers from Division II Western Oregon and Portland State, an FCS school, could turn out to be any good, right?

I noticed a new name on the roster, https://twitter.com/CalebHallAbb/status ... 7875261441, Caleb Hall-Abbott, checked his twitter and he announces he is transferring from Oklahoma State.

Also noticed some new names on the roster on the Texas State Athletics roster. Will check them out

I apologize if I botched the link.

Caleb walked on to OKST, I think he's somewhere from the Dallas area. he transferred here and will have to sit out for the season.
