Four turnovers and at least one, if not two very costly penalties...

SLU's defense has plenty of speed. Need to work out those offensive kinks. Beatty just did not look as comfortable as I would have though.

Beatty is the question I have on their offense. His play was kind of spotty last year, looked great against UCA, but pretty bad a few games as well....

Beatty played pretty well actually...had a couple of poor reads and threw a couple he shouldn't have, but made some OUTSTANDING throws as well, that not many QBs at our level can make...overall, 17/34 for 202, 3 TDs, 1 INT...not earth-shattering numbers but had a couple of drops and several incompletions came on the last couple of drives...we're plenty satisfied with how he played.

damn. would have hoped the Lions could pull off the win. They are the only SLC team that I figured had a real shot at a FBS win. Still, nice showing. We won't be so lucky but I hope we at least make it competitive for half of the game.

Beatty has MCL issues, out 1-to-3 weeks per Lions' Den. Waiting for official word from the school. I did not think he was going to get it checked until Monday...

He got it checked Friday...sprained MCL...is already walking around fine, though will probably miss this week for sure, as a precaution.
