Pretty clear huh?

That's a real nice blog you've got yourself there, but when you looks at these two links, we both get our fair share of legitimate media. These links aren't everything on either team, but they've got most the big stories. We piggyback on a lot of your guys articles in the SAEN and we are big enough to cover by ourselves in Austin.

"Texas State" + FBS = 11 hits on Google News.
UTSA + FBS = 3 hits on Google News.

Well Frank, if I were servicing Dan Mc Carney, like yourself. I am sure my beloved Bobcats would see more articles from the Express News. Go nUTSAck!

Nationaly, we are mentioned together many times, but there has also been times that just UTSA was mentioned.

As for your Google search. Nationally a lot of articles are still calling us Texas- San Antonio, see ESPN and Sporting News (both of those mentioned UTSA and not Tx St)....

Oh and as for me sucking off the UTSA beat writer, at least I have press to service, what do you have, SMDR, nice....Oh, I know Austin media has you guys covered....right...

Honestly, the best thing for you guys to get into this San Antonio press is for us to be in the same conference, and thats fine.

I wasnt looking to start any fires here, if youve seen my posts around this site, you know I am not a flame thrower...

First, I do have to agree with frankstanks, he certainly has not been a flame thrower by any means.

But, frankstanks, what do you mean by saying that UTSA is getting more press of late than UTSA? You bring up one article that just mentions UTSA and not Texas State. Does that qualify as getting more press of late than Texas State?

weak thread....both schools are getting plenty of attention right now....Austin media really giving TxSt some attention this year.

good index of articles related to UTSA, and many of them mention TXSt as well.

This is a great point. To have Texas State in Austin T.V. news as often as it has been the past few weeks is a great sign for us. UTSA has yet to play a game and have its first losing season. Yes UTSA has some backing to move up to FBS quickly but you, just like the almighty bobcats, must find a conference. UTSA will never make it as an independent. The support for a UTSA team in SA has yet to be seen, ya'll get to compete with the Spurs on some Saturdays of the season, get to play teams that not one person in SA has ever heard of, and get to get crushed by teams people in SA have heard of.

We in San Marcos play teams that people that follow our team have heard of, we have grown a nice base of supportive alumni over the past 3-5 years, are excited to see our bobcats move on to bigger and better things, and have a massive amount of proud alumni waiting to see this school succeed on an athletic level.

Other than media market (which I think Texas State can over come) the only advantage UTSA has over Texas State is that a Running Back that has Forrest Gump scores on the SAT can qualify to get into school.

Really the only thing appealing about utsa is the city of San Antonio. Just imagine for a second if utsa was in, say, Victoria. Everything about the school was completely the same right now except their campus was in Victoria instead of San Antonio. They would have 0% chance of consideration from FBS conferences.

Good for utsa that they are in such an attractive market, but don't act like your school is so great just because it happens to be in San Antonio. Really thats all you have going for you.

These were what I was talking about, I had seen a few articles with Texas-San Antonio mentioned and not Texas State. Unfortunately we are not know as UTSA nationally yet, but we will get there.

I do agree with you guys that Texas State is above UTSA in Karl Bensons mind, but none of this really matters. Seems clear we are both heading in the same direction, together.

Its kind of funny, much was made about how TxST was being patient and doing things the right way while UTSA was being aggressive, possiby reckless and looks like we will have the same result...I think what it proves is that the opportunity has to present itself, and that may be the hardest thing to come by.
Hopefully things will go the way they look they will go and we can congratulate each other and really get this rivalry cooking. One thing for sure, the road team will have a lot of representation at our games. I cant wait!

I'm all for TXST and UTSA joining a conference together. Could be a great rivalry.
