Post Lamar Football Update
Hello Txst,

Just wanted to take a moment to update you guys on some recent developments at LU.

The season ticket sales are now up to 5000. Individual tickets will be available shortly. A depth chart has been released, it is the one that was officially released today in the media guide. The turf is almost completely installed, there is an album at the fan site where you can view the progress and the depth chart.

We have a pretty challenging early season, we're playing McNeese, SFA and Southeastern in the first half of the season. All of those matches will be away games.

Nice chatting with you guys, see you around the Southland and TSUS.

Very nice endzone/fieldhouse, first class. Has Lamar unofficially declared it's intent to go FBS? It seems like they're spending a lot of dough just to play in FCS.

Yeah, I think the official number is something like $30 million.

The school keeps saying that it would love to move up but that it has to get the support first. I think if Lamar does well enough the first couple of season you could see stadium expansion and a FBS move with in 5 years. That hinges on plenty of factors though, TxSt is still well ahead of us on the route towards FBS but LU is definitely interested.

Not too shabby..

Its nice to see yet another school stepping up to the plate with stadium renovations. Isn't McNeese adding an endzone or something?

They needed too. The old facility was completely unusable as a Div I stadium. It looks like Lamar is serious about football now.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm very hopeful that SLC Football will take a step up over the next couple of years with all of the money being poured in from the different schools. If we all have nice facilities it makes our conference more desirable to recruits.
