I have to agree with you on Alvin Ords.

Gils is alright (althought i haven't had the Mansky Roll)
Zookas is good too

But hands down Alvin Ords is the place I will miss going to when I leave this campus.

I don't believe Alvin Ord's should be considered since I cant even make myself go inside. Step inside that place and look around, it is so dirty. The meat they use isnt even that good either. If you guys want a good clean sandwhich, try going to Delaware Subs and getting their philly or club. That being said, I have to go with Zooka's as the best food establishment near campus. I know not everyone likes these burrito places, but their chicken and queso arent too bad. I also didnt mention the Tap Room, which is obviously the best food near campus. If someone can tell me where to get a burger that tastes better than the Tap's Works Burger, I would love to hear from you. Eat'em Up. :txst:

The only time I've eaten from Alvin Ord's was while working a summer camp after my freshman year. I liked the bread on the sandwich, but the rest was just ok for me.

Hands down, in my opinion, Grin's is the best. They've got a mean chicken fried steak (always on special!), the best broc/cheese soup I've ever had period, and their burgers are pretty good too. Plus the view inside is great too!

I try to eat at Gils and Alvins when I can, both are good, I am not a fan of Zookas, their food is just not up to snuff, they need to hire someone professional to upgrade their recipes, or steal some online, there just is no excuse to make a burrito taste this bad, I think I'm done with pizza, the acid reflux just can't handle the shock of it anymore, I like the deck at grins when the weather/season/insect population is right and I have time to kill, I preferred Peppers to what is now located at the falls, Joes is not really suitable for adults, its more of a daycare for twenty-somethings.....Palmers is a mere shadow of what it once was......mostly due to extremely poor service, a result of inadequate management, and their food is not for the hungry.........I am a fan of the River Pub.........and if they would put a restaraunt in overlooking Sewell Park I would eat there everyday, even if all they served was wormy oatmeal from a roachy kitchen........sometimes atmosphere overcomes all................

I'll be honest with you, I think the burger's at Gill's are nothing special. There's just nothing to them at all. Yall should try DBlazio's pizza by the way- good stuff

Oh man I am sad - mine's not on the list. I will miss Murphys the most! Probably because I go there so much they know what I get when I walk in the door. (That and I love their hummus)

I like our freebirds knockoff, Zookas, but Grin's is nearly unbeatable, aside from that insanely dangerous hill it sits on. You ever tried to walk to class after a handful of lunchtime margaritas?

Post BEST CULINARY FOR A HOW TO IMPRESS THIS WOMAN DATE
Try Bordeaux's in Kyle on Center Street downtown. Yes I said Kyle, I know that sounds crazy but you better make a reservation for Fri or Sat nites. The Austin crowd has found it and it is great. Not quite as pricey as Sullivan's but has as good if not better steaks. Great wine selection and the owner is the chef and his wife is the MGR.

Another great place is Myron's in New Beaunfels. Here again make reservations and bring you credit card or lots of greenbacks. They do not take Bobcat bucks. A tad more expensive than Bordeaux's but nice atmosphere as well.

Another thing I should mention this is rather dressy so leave the shorts and flip flops at home. You won't get in

That's a bold statement with both the Tap Room & Centerpoint Station in town.
