I really want soccer and vball to win their tournaments since those winners get post season placement. Don't get me wrong. I love the regular season titles, but really want the tournament titles as well.

This may not hold true after losing tonight, and I also don't know much about volleyball.

But RPI was 27th prior to tonight's game last I saw. In men's basketball and baseball an RPI that high is usually a shoo-in for an automatic berth.

txst is the only sunbelt team in the top 100 rpi. i would think if they make it to the finals, they are in, but it might be close. my guess is win the tourney and we're a low 2/high 3....lose and we might be a 4, which would suck royally.

So frustrating. We had it but sailed 2 of those penalty kicks.

uuugghhh. Well, great season ladies.

what a bummer after such a strong season. i don't watch the matches, just follow along on twitter, but it looks like they've got to find some help up front for davis. w/ 18 of our 28 (13/19 in conf) goals, it would seem like opponents can focus on defending her w/o much worry about a secondary scorer.

Genesis Turman is also a pretty decent player up front, but too easily dispossessed (as are most women's soccer players at the college level).

Pretty much.

I'm not exactly a soccer expert, but I watched some of our games in this tournament. First time I've ever watched TXST soccer (or college soccer at all for that matter). All 3 games we had to move her from center forward (where I'm assuming she's played all year) to the wing to try and get her open. Teams would just key on her and anytime she'd be near the ball she'd have 4 defenders all over her.
