Friday's game is rained out. Postponed to what I assume will be a DH Saturday.

We've announced Reich will pitch game one and Engle game two. Fraze still out and Leigh not announced as a weekend starter for first time in weeks. Leigh pitched in relief vs UTSA Tuesday which was an alarm for me. He looked bad in his last start. Probably Lewis or Pagano for game three if I had to guess. Leigh also an option still I'm sure.

Bobcats win game 1, 8-2.

DH tomorrow, Fraze mentioned as possible game 2 starter on Sunday.

Dropped game 1 of the DH 3-2.

Hitting is still anemic . . . Hope we take the second half of the DH . . . Fraze is on the mound.

Leigh (Lee) on in relief of Fraze, who was pulled after 47 pitches (was on a pitch count), game still scoreless in the 5th.

Lost game 2, 1-0. Swept on the day, and lost the series. We actually out hit ULM in the second game today.

Bobcats now 5-10 in their last 15 games . . . not how you wanna look mid-way through the season.

Watched the Masters instead of baseball this weekend and glad I did, but we lost both games of today's DH giving up a combined 4 hits total over both games.

At this point I'm convinced our returning offensive players spent all off-season on the square. It's mind boggling how much regression there is and frustrating to think how good we'd be if they just stayed consistent from year to year.

Pitching looked stellar all weekend by the stats and we lose the series cause we can't hit.

What else is new? I can't recall many seasons when we could both pitch and hit. We had great pitching in 2012 and had really good hitting that I can recall 2007-2011 but we've never truly been able to put them together in the same single season.

For once, I agree with you.

We always seem to be competent in one Dept and incompetent in the other aside from 2009.

What's frustrating is the offensive players who were the competent one's last year are the same that have been incompetent for most of this season.

It is what frustrates me most with the coaching staff--the players don't develop, at least not like what you see in other programs. You just don't see the year-over-year improvement trend with individual players. It is a pattern that I know affects our recruiting.

JMO, but I think we're looking at another .500 to sub-.500 season.

I don't see us playing with enough consistency, and I don't see any sense of urgency . . . Hope I'm wrong.

I think we'll finish north of .500 unless injuries start piling up like last year. Pitching has looked good enough to win games and the offense comes to life every 3rd or 4th game. If we can flip a switch and start hitting like it's 2017 we could finish with our best record in years. Sadly I don't see that happening at this point in the season.

Expecting to finish in the low 30s in the win column.

The Red Wolves seem to be down this year, and UL is certainly not what they typically are . . . so, you may well be right. As stated when I made the post . . . I hope that I'm wrong . . . wouldn't mind that a bit.

I still feel like this is a team that is underperforming . . . as a fan, it's frustrating to watch.
