Our roster shows we have three seniors. For some reason I thought we had four. Whatever.
Teddy should get drafted. Someone posted that if drafted, he was gone. I sure don't know.
Last I read, we signed five in Nov and one walk on. Only one of these six weighs over 185.
There is always a lot of turnover. Not sure how different net years team will look. Hopefully, we are going to sign a bunch of juco pitchers.

I'd settle for any pitchers . . .juco or otherwise . . . .

. . . and perhaps guys from the pen that didn't take the mound carrying a "gas can."

And Dear Gawd, would it be a askin' too much to stop walkin' so many freakin' batters per game?

If we could clear up those minor annoyances, I'd be very encouraged about 2018. . . .

That amounts to 5.41 walks per game . . . SMH . .

272 out of 295 College Baseball teams . . .

Yeah, I'd say that's a stat we can stand to improve on . . . .

Without delving into too many roster detail, I would take my chances on any decent juco pitcher that is interested. Guys that can eat innings and throw strikes.

This thread is comical. Do you think they recruited guys that did not fit that profile? Our worst pitcher this year was lights out last season; what happened to him? Guys that were draft prospects did not get on the field! This is not a player issue, folks!

I understand you have issues with the coaching staff. That doesn't change the fact that we have 3 JUCO pitchers on the roster and all of them did fine this year. If we could fill some holes with more guys like that we would be a lot better off. And no, not everybody we recruit is an inning eater that throws strikes. We get some guys like Pagano who are more finesse pitchers that have to live on the black or get shelled.

Our program isn't in good shape right now (likely coaching), and we desperately need a good year to turn it around to build momentum. Hopefully we can find the right mix of guys to bring in and a couple of the young pitchers like Fraze can continue to develop. He started with a 16 era and worked it down to 4.59 by the end of the year while everybody around him was tanking. Ended the year with 4 wins in a row.

IF what's listed is complete (56 games would indicate its complete but no release from the university yet so could be a change or two):

Home non-conference 3 game series:
Oklahoma State
McNeese State
SFA

Road non-conference 3 game series:
UC Santa Barbara

Home Mid-week games:
Rice
UTSA x 2
Incarnate Word
Texas
UTRGV
Baylor
Prairie View A&M

Road Mid-week games:
Rice
Baylor
UTSA
Texas A&M
Texas x 2

Home Conference Series:
Appalachian State
Little Rock
South Alabama
Georgia Southern
Louisiana

Road Conference Series:
Coastal Carolina
ULM
Georgia State
Arkansas State
UTA

32 home games, 24 road games. Another good schedule. Not usually much to complain about with baseball scheduling. Just need to win some damn games. OSU opening weekend should be fun if we are competitive this year.

Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Weatherford College, at SFA for awhile before that. Hopefully the guy can recruit, our recruiting the last 5 years hasn't been what it was 10 years ago.

My hope as well . . . as clearly we're looking at a couple of significant events hurting the overall program:

Our drop off in recruiting, coupled with the fact that we're now competing in a pretty good baseball conference (I suppose you could throw Ty's health in there as well).

In any event, you win when you've got the horses . . . We need to go get some horses . . .

Interested to see the realistic expectations of fans this year. With 56 games on the schedule, what is your minimum standard? I saw that we were picked 3rd in the sun belt west.

Last year we were 29-30 overall and 13-17 in conference, finishing 4th in the west.

I fully expect another .500-ish year (just like we've done since 2013).
