National seeds have been dropping like flies.

Future conference mates, CCU, just took down #10 LSU and are heading to Omaha.

Yea, I watch those Chantileers take it to those Tigers. They have an impressive team.
Made me jealous. There is no reason we can't taste some of that success.

great weekend of baseball and a ton of upsets.

loved seeing cc drop lsu like a bad habit. for a school like that to walk into the box and not even give the home team the courtesy of a 3rd game? freakin' awesome!

have a good friend who pitched for tech and have been rooting for them to make a real run at it. that saturday game was a mess on the basepaths, but the raiders wore out the ecu closer and they had nothing left for sunday.

watching the $ec!$ec!$ec! crumble has been awesome. rooting for the noles tonight, just for the conf sweep of despair. the aggies taking it from tcu for a 2nd year in a row, and seeing all their bs excuses today has been wonderful. my favorite is that the ncaa is trying to grow baseball in the north so all the seeding and umps are set up to favor the yanks....never mind that there's not a single school going to omaha from any school remotely close to the mason-dixon, much less north of it. okst is the most northern school in.

That was great. They clearly did not give two shits that they were playing LSU. I know not everyone is a fan of Coastal joining the Sunbelt, but I think a school with some moxie like them will really help all sports as far as on-field performance long-term. TxSt, on the other hand, has a talent for folding like a lawn chair in those situations.

Been over at the LSU board reading their stuff. It wasn't that CCU was good, they were just not good. Too young, crappy situational hitting. You don't get a national seed by being bad.

I am glad the SEC imploded. Like every other sport, they get the RPI value by what conference they're in. CCU may be in the Big South (for now) but they've been to Regionals more times than we have (14) and that was their 3rd Super. They must be somewhat decent if you can manage beating higher seeds to get there. Same coach for 20 years but he's a good one.

arizona's coach is that unicorn we're always looking for. shows up in year one and takes a team that went 31-24 last year and predicted to finish 9th this year, to making the cws via ull and miss st, and 1-0 after day 1.

It will be interesting to see if anyone can take down what some people call the best starting pitching ever in college baseball. Puk appears to be in line to start the third game. I think the Florida pitcher was pick 6th in the draft.

That No. 6 pick in the draft came in with two runners on in the 6th only to load the bases after hitting the batter in the head with a 96 mph fastball (ouch). He was yanked right after that.

Man Coastal Carolina was impressive!! The three national seeds are now all in the losers bracket as all opening round games in the CWS have been completed.

yea, that interesting. Puk was puke. Coastal has a very nice team. Kid pitches the best game of his career. How great is that?
Wouldn't it be great if Coastal won this thing?

It would do wonders for our conference's credibility (selfish), but I love the way Coastal plays and would love to see a team like that take it all.
