After the season and a taking a break, hopefully you will reconsider, especially with respect to the baseball board. I really appreciate your hard work and tireless research. I look forward to your posts and info. Maybe if you just posted on the baseball board, you would still enjoy it. Certain people who pick part every post don't post much on this board. Any way, thanks for doing this and posting baseball info.

from rotoworld

Twins re-signed 2B Tommy Field to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
After being released by the Tigers in May, Field latched on with the Twins' Triple-A club and hit just well enough to salvage his career. He hit 11 home runs in 82 games although his .235 batting average wasn't pretty. The 29-year-old has had cups of coffee with the Rockies, Angels and Rangers over the years. He will serve as organizational depth again this season.

Rangers signed INF Jason Martinson to a minor league contract.
The 28-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his minor league career in the Nationals' organization. In 2016, he slashed just .218/.284/.369 with 12 homers, 58 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 507 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse. With the ability to play all four infield positions, as well as the corner outfield, he could make his big league debut with the Rangers in 2016 should injuries strike.

Carson Smith threw off of the mound for the first time yesterday. 15 to 18 pitches. Red Sox are hoping to have him back mid-season. They will try to work him back into the setup role. He would be a big addition to their pen.

for a team that has a lot of pieces in place to make a legit run this year, he would be huge.

after giving up 3 earned in not even a full inning of Work on May 16... Hart has been on a big league/AAA carousel ever since but hasn't given up a run since in nearly 9 straight major league innings or ~15 straight Baltimore system innings

Post Re: Pro Players 2016
hopefully carson smith is good to go:

Quote:
Manager John Farrell reported Sunday that the Red Sox hope Smith (elbow, shoulder) will be able to begin mound work on Tuesday or Wednesday, Chris Mason of CNHI Sports Boston reports.

Smith was originally scheduled to begin his mound program this weekend, but it appears he wasn't quite ready so the team bumped back his start date to Tuesday or Wednesday. It's been a long and trying rehabilitation for Smith, but it's encouraging that he'll soon begin ramping up his throwing program again after suffering a setback in mid-June.
