I would like it to, but I picked the 3rd option.

From what I have seen, the baseball team doesn't have a big following.

UT does. I think it will be a fairly decent crowd, but sadly not a lot of Maroon and Gold.

However, I SINCERELY hope I am 100% wrong on this.

I had this same discussion with a friend the other day. Both of us believe that there is a very real possibility that it sells out, but to a majority of UT fans.

I too hope that I am completely wrong.

We sold out a Tuesday game against Rice a couple years ago with overflow crowds lining the fences. With UT bringing a healthy contingent of fans, I can see the place filled up and 55-60% Maroon and Gold.

I was thinking the same thing. Rice sold out. Even though they were #1 at the time I can't imagine that UT doesn't pull at least the same ammount of fans. Hopefully we can pack the place in before the UT fans show up.

Rice sold out, and a game with A&M a few years before that sold out. Both had overflow. I see no reason why the UT game won't sell out with overflow. My prediction: 2,314. So there. You saw it here first. (Isn't official capacity supposed to be 2,000? They'll be lining the fences.)

You know, after reading these posts and remembering the absolute ELECTRICITY at the Rice game last year, I'm changing my vote. I'm thinking sellout and mucho M&G.

The people come out to watch the baseball team when the opponent is someone that they know. (ALA UT, A&M, Rice, ect). So, I have no doubt that it will be a sell out or VERY VERY close. The only question is how many of them will be Bobcat fans, and how many will be UT fans. Because UT certainly does travel well with baseball as well, and will travel especially well for a game this close.

an interesting decision for our AD to make: How many tickets do you actually sell to the general public and how many "free" seats do you hold back for our students?
Some how the AD has to make sure our studnets get into this game on their ID. I would really be upset if there were a bunch of tickets sold to TU fans and then some of our students couldn't get in.
I wonder if they have thought of this possibliity?
Our group of football taigaters will have at least 10 buying reserve tickets.

I believe it well sell out. I was at that Rice game and I've never seen that many people there for a baseball game. Goes to show, you bring in the big names, and people will show up.

My vote is with at least half of the fans being UT fans though. I think I recall a game couple of years back where the softball team hosted UT and it was sold out, with more than half of the fans showing up in burnt orange. So using that history, I say it will sell out but expect a large UT contingent there.

I had been wondering about tickets myself so I just called the ticket office and they are holding back 750 tickets for students. That means less tickets for UT right there that definitely helps the ratio.

BTW single game tickets go on sale Feb 23 for those of you not holding season tickets.

Interesting to note that the softball team also hosts the Longhorns that same night an hour later. Big day for Bobcat sports in San Marcos.

I was just reading again the info about the stadium, and it says capacity including standing room will be closer to 3,000. me likes. (plus, there looks to be plenty of room for future expansion should it ever be needed.)

It's a no-brainer. Any seats not filled with maroon will be filled with burnt orange. Texas is bringing another good team to our house. If this athletic program wants some respect here in Austin...this is the the time to get it. A poor showing will continue to perpetuate the "poor little sister" attitude I've come to know here in Austin. I hope the kids step it up on the field and gain some respect. :-|| :baseball: :-||
