This was a very winnable game. At least the pitching held up tonight. We had our chances and could not get a hit or even a sac fly when we needed it.

Baird only threw 57 pitches before being pulled in the 5th last night and seemed to be pitching well up to that point. I bet we are considering throwing him this weekend, even if in relief.

We announced probable starters at Troy.

Friday - Reich
Saturday - Fraze
Sunday - TBA

I think Fraze has earned this Saturday opportunity. The past two weekends I thought he would maybe move up in the rotation.

Sunday will be either Engle or Baird. When Baird came out early on Tuesday I knew we had to be considering throwing him on Sunday.

Thought that Baird did a great job against the horns.

At the time he got the hook, I thought it was a little odd, based on the job he was doing. But if a possible weekend start weighed into that decision, then I totally get the short leash ... .

I'm really glad to see this happening and hope Baird gets the sunday start. If Baird starts sunday kind of makes me wonder who might start tuesday's games assuming Engle does not. I suppose it could be Courville.

I think if Baird starts Sunday then Engle starts Tuesday and vice versa.
