Well, we seem to play much better in the 2nd half. Better than the other way around I suppose. At least the cats got the win.

Good coaching = Adjustments

I was surprised to see a couple games back where all the things I was pointing out were bad with our team were completely fixed after half. Can't remember if it was Air Force or Drake.

**Edit, it was actually both.

I think Mason Harrell will be very good when the college game slows down for him.

He's actually adjusted really well in that department. His defense is one of the best in the team already. His issue, in my opinion at the moment, is that he is still not recognizing when someone else on the floor has a better shot. He gets tunnel vision with wanting to score and missing some valuable assist opportunities.

I particularly liked that the team as a whole used a more grind-it-out approach against Cal Poly, which helped with 3-point efficiency and better scoring opportunities the second half. They didn't panic this time and start tossing up endless threes to try and get back in the game.

Peacock, Scott and Davis are still playing overly aggressive underneath instead of in-control-physical. We had 14 fouls at the (F) position to Cal Poly's 4. Against teams with bigger inside presence, that gives us issues with rotation and second-chance points/rebounds like we saw against Drake.

That was a better 1st half. USC Upstate is bad but still it's 39-18 cats at the half.

66-41 with 5 mins left.....this was a good game to work on fundamentals and offensive sets.

Did what we were supposed to do. Still some dumb turnovers from risky passes. Still would like to see more from daschner.

Portland beat Cal Poly in the late game.

It will be TXST vs. Portland for the tournament championship tonight.

portland's coach is interesting: terry porter
can do a lot worse than having a former nba player, assistant coach and head coach on your sidelines, never mind a local legend.

That's strange. We should be 5-6 point favorites.

Exciting 1st half against Portland. Cats up 36-34. Pearson and C. Davis leading the way.
