The dark stain is a little dark for my taste. I like a little more subtlety in the different shades.

I tend to agree, maybe one or two shades darker, but not too extreme.

That being said, I have much higher priorities to work with the AD dept than shade color.

Didn't see a point to starting a new thread. Joel Wright is featured in Act 2 of the latest This American Life podcast.
No mention of TXST, it discusses being a DACA kid and playing pro overseas.

got a chance to see it in person tonight at the volleyball match vs uta. not a fan at all.

if you hate volleyball markings on basketball courts, this is going to really bug you. because of the staining of the 3pt area and state of texas, they had to use white lines for vb, and they stand out like a sore thumb.

the state of texas also means the supercat had to be outlined in white, which adds to the ugly/mess in the middle of the court.

overall, the stains simply don't look good together. too dark overall.

new section where the wall was looks pretty good.

That sucks to hear. The court definitely looked too dark in pics. Our maroon almost looks brown.

Has it been confirmed, the vball lines are permanent?
If so, that's a huge disappointment.

I have mentioned it before, Texas State is the only school in the Sun Belt with permanent vball lines.

i'm no expert on floor paint, but they looked permanent to me. there seem to be gaps in the stain around the lines for more clarity, which i wouldn't think would be there if they were some kind of removable application.

Karen told me last night that she fought hard to gat the lines painted permanently. Kind of a priority for her.

That's great Karen. Next time the MBB is on ESPN 2, the country will assume they play for Texas State High School.
I see who wears the pants in the admin building.

don't fault her at all for fighting for her program. it's not her fault the rest of the court looks like it does, or that her team doesn't have it's own venue.

Plan all along was for VB lines to be temporary. Chisum's clout made them go permanent at the 11th hour.

Are the seats where the wall used to be chair back seats or benches?

Post subject:  Re: Adios, Wall

they are the same nice chairbacks as in the lower bowl, and all the way to the top if i was seeing correctly. same telescoping wall deal where they push back for more floor space.
