Wasn't a very large crowd but the atmosphere was pretty good. I usually don't yell at the refs much but tonight was different. The guy sitting next to me started calling one of the refs cecil and turtle. It's a looney tunes reference. If you know that cartoon character then you know which ref he was talking about. Btw, the refs deserved every negative comment they received. They have no business being on the court. Looking forward to the next game.

This tournament is kind of an interesting format. I really want to make the game, but need to know times.

The AD wants to push for a 5:00/5:30pm time slot.

At one point, I commented how we had five guys with 3 or more fouls in the middle of the second half. Can be expected though, NCAA and NIT get the pick of the litter for refs this late in the season.

Will not host TAMCC as they are hosting their own game.

Kind of strange they would not match up the last two Texas teams.

i may be mixing up the non-ncaa tourneys, but at least one of the cit/cbi works via pay-for-home-games.

edit: cbi
Quote:
To host a CBI game, teams have to pay $50,000, and that fee goes up to $75,000 for the right to host semifinals. It ain't cheap, but it can give young teams that are showing improvement a chance to keep playing.

edit2: cit
Quote:
The CIT is part-bracket, part-racket. The tournament charges a fee for teams to host home games. In 2012, it was reported as $30,000 per home game; in 2014, it was reported as $36,000 per home game; and this year, CollegeAD.com reported it was $38,500 to host a game.

Yes! I'll be there - good excuse to head to San Marcos on Sunday as I have business in Austin on Monday.

Good job not putting it up against Baseball/Softball.

Full weekend of Bobcat Athletics this weekend in San Marcos.

Baseball has a 3 game series with the defending national champs.
Softball has a 3 game series with App State.
Basketball CIT round 2 game on Sunday.

On Sunday I'll be catching baseball at 1pm then going to the basketball game at 5. Happy to see they didn't do something stupid like schedule those games at the same time.

Let's beat Idaho and get to the CIT elite 8.
