Yeah, seems the game was moved. Baffling we would agree to that. :? :?

Yeah but still seems odd. It is an odd tournament though. At least the students will be back.

The students being back may be why they would agree to it.

That's what I thought too, but unless the AD does heavy marketing Monday and Tuesday, most students don't seem to know or care about the CIT.

When I Google "CIT Tournament 2017", I also see Loyola MD vs Coastal Carolina, Akron vs TX Arlington, Utah Valley vs Rice, and Boise State vs. Illinois in addition to those games you listed. Are they not part of this tournament? I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything. I know nothing about how this tournament works.

not part of the same tournament. i'm seeing the same thing as you, and it's a google mess up. the link to the bracket is to the ncaa tournament, some of those teams are in the nit (akron/uta), some are in the cit (amcc/weber), some are cbi (loyola/cc).

Won't be able to make it to this game. I sure hope we get some better refs this time.

Bobcats take on Idaho tonight at 7pm in the final game of the 2nd round of the CIT. Winner will advance to the quarterfinals.

TXST is 21-13 overall and beat Lamar 70-60 in the 1st round.
Idaho is 19-13 overall and beat SFA 73-50 in Moscow in the 1st round.

TXST and Idaho were conference mates for one season in the WAC and played each other twice in 2013. Those two WAC games are the only two meetings ever between the programs. Texas State beat Idaho in Moscow in January 2013 before Idaho beat Texas State in San Marcos in March that year.

Idaho left the WAC after the 2013-2014 season and now plays in the Big Sky. They went 12-6 in the Big Sky this year to tie for 3rd place.

Victor Sanders leads Idaho after a stellar season that earned him 1st team all-Big Sky honors. The 6-5 Junior guard averages 21.1 PPG (20th in the nation) and shoots 44.1% from 3 (11th in the nation). The only other double-digit scorer is 6-7 forward Brayon Blake. Blake has only started 9 games but averages 10.3 PPG and leads the team with 6.1 RPG. He also shoots 34.9% from 3.

Idaho seems to have a little more size than us with their starting frontcourt at 6-8, 6-7, 6-6. This may force Conley to guard the 6-5 Sanders who is half the Idaho offense.

Idaho runs a deliberate offense that doesn't run much and plays fairly tough defense. Mix that with our style (291st in scoring offense, 19th in scoring defense), and I think we are going to see a low scoring grind-it-out style game tonight. If you like defense you should enjoy this game (I bet the 131.5 O/U).

Bobcats are currently 5 point favorites. Tip is at 7pm. Come to Strahan if you're in the area. If you're not you can watch the game on Facebook Live.

That made me cringe a bit, not because of Conley's abilities, but because guarding a 6'5" scoring threat creates issues and opens lanes for those taller guys in the paint.
