Post Game Thread - @ Air Force
Basketball season is officially here! Texas State will tip-off its regular season today at 3pm CST against Air Force in Clune Arena in Colorado Springs. This game is technically part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase. The Bobcats will play 3 more games as part of the tournament from November 22nd to the 25th in Stockton, CA.

x's unofficial depth chart:

Point Guard:
Marlin Davis
Tre Nottingham
Reggie Miller
Shooting Guard:
Tyler Blount or
Isaiah Gurley
Shelby Adams
Small Forward:
Nijal Pearson
Deris Duncan
Shelby Adams
Power Forward:
Nedja Prijovic
Alex Peacock
Quentin Scott
Center:
Immanuel King
Eric Terry
Alonso Sule

I put an "or" at SG cause I'm not sure what to expect there. Gurley didn't play in either exhibition game and I'm not certain if he's good to go today either. I expect Blount to start with Gurley to get significant minutes if he's active. Prijovic had a minor injury in the first exhibition and sat out the 2nd but it was precautionary and he should be good to go today.

Air Force went 12-21 last year with a 4-14 MWC record, finishing tied for 10th in the 11 team Mountain West. They are picked to finish 11th this season and had no selections in the pre-season all conference teams. Their season ended last year in the MWC tournament. They beat Wyoming in the first round before getting knocked out in the 2nd by Colorado State.

Like the Bobcats, the Falcons lost their leading scorer from a year ago.
They return Frank Toohey who averaged 10.7 PPG and 4.5 RPG last season. Toohey is listed as a true center despite only being 6'7" 220 lbs (TXST doesn't have a true center listed on its roster).
Point Guard Jacob Van also returns after averaging 10.6 PPG last season. The senior from Mansfield, TX had 93 assists to 57 turnovers and shot 39.1% from 3-point range.
I would expect King would be tasked with guarding Toohey, while Davis will be guarding Van.

Game tips off at 3pm CST and will be broadcast on ESPN3. Line opened yesterday evening with Air Force as 3 point favorites. Line has moved half a point to -3.5 for the Falcons.

6-2 AFA at the first media timeout.

Terry already picked up a flagrant 1 with what was probably an unintentional elbow thrown.

Couple 3s from Pearson and couple buckets from Prijovic makes it 15-12 AFA.

Timeout TXST as Prijovic needed a breather and couldn't make it to the under 12 media.

Nottingham first off the bench to relieve Blount at SG, making me think Gurley still isn't back.

Bobcats take the lead 22-21 at the under 4 media.

Pearson up to 11. Biggest negative so far is we've turned it over 10 times already.

Nope, you can see him not dressed up on the bench

10-2 run for AFA to close the first half.

33-24 Falcons at halftime.
Pearson has 11, Prijovic 6, King 4, and Davis 3.

New guys are really struggling. We've turned it over 14 times in the first half. Very uncharacteristic of a Kaspar team. Tre Nottingham has 4 turnovers with 0 points and 0 assists. Blount started and only played 5 minutes in the first half, Nottingham played most of the half at SG.

Team looks a bit out of shape to me to be honest. Saw both Prijovic and Davis ask to be pulled. Davis did play 19 minutes though. Reggie Miller's 1 minute at the point didn't go well...

Can't keep turning the ball over. AFA is 14/37 from the field, we are 9/19. They almost doubled us up on field goal attempts.

First non exhibition game with a lot of new guys = sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. I am sure they are hearing it at half-time.

The D kept it close most of the half until that late run. With Air Force taking nearly twice as many shots as TXST they were bound to outscore us this half. Even the blind mouse finds the cheese every once in a while.

Nijal and, occasionally, Neja were our only reliable contributors on the offensive end this half. Which one of the newcomers will step up? Peacock played some good D. It looks like they’re all hesitant.

X pointed out they look out of shape. Agreed. Especially Terry.

On another note, these ESPN3 broadcasters really love the Princeton offense. It’s all they talk about.

LET’S GO CATS!

39-29 at the under 16 media.

Prijovic came out limping. Hopefully nothing serious.

Edit: They just showed him in the tunnel limping around. I think it's his back.

63-48 at the under 4 media timeout. AFA killing us from 3. They're 8/19.

We're struggling to find any offense outside of Pearson which is concerning.
