Our home non-conference schedule last year was:
Southeastern Oklahoma State (Exhibition) - D2
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
McNeese State
Oklahoma Panhandle State - D2
Prairie View A&M
Howard Payne - D3

It's pathetic and sorely needs to be improved upon and quickly.

I have followed Kaspar for at least a decade now. He has always done this and I wouldn't expect it to change.

Our challenge is offensive production. We finished last season at #304 with 66.9 ppg. 15-16 was #308 with 66.0. #305 with 61.5. We hold the ball a LONG time in possession. If we could get into just the top half for offensive production, maintaining scoring defense, we would be very, VERY tough to beat. I'm optimistic we'll see positive movement with the offense. It isn't a big ask--just adding about 3 ppg in each of the next couple of seasons would get us into the low 70s.

I have to believe Kaspar hated the change a few years ago when the shot clock changed from 35 to 30. Good for the game of college basketball, not so good for Danny Kaspar.

Our sets often take the entire 30 seconds to get a quality shot off and teams are consistently putting a little 3/4 court press on us cause they know we'll eat up 1/3 of the clock to break it. Teams started to do that with frequency last year and AFA did it on Sunday. Expect a lot of it this season.

I remember noticing that last year and was like "ruhroh, we've been found out." I'm interested to see what strategies Kaspar starts to employ to get the ball up-court quickly to give the offensive set time. Or, he needs a good quick-strike ability deployed once-in-a-while to push opposing coaches off the press.

Not concerned about losing Julien at all.

Probably in his best interest to transfer for playing time. He seemed like a good kid but I doubt he was in line to play much with Blount returning and Adams coming in. Hope he can transfer somewhere and be successful his last two seasons. Also, I'll be pulling for Nate Josephs to start and be a major player for TLU this year. Hope to see him do well for the Bulldogs.

There's been a lot of attrition under Kaspar, but most of it has been for the best (Julien, Ramlal, Evans, West). Just a few I didn't like (Malveau, Weatherspoon).

Checking in on the guys who transferred out after last season:

Maxwell Starwood - Transferred to Southeastern Louisiana. Sitting out due to D1 transfer rules.

Courtney Julien - Dominating at NAIA Our Lady of the Lake. Leading the Saints in scoring at 19.8 PPG.

Nathan Josephs - Dominating at D3 Texas Lutheran. Leading the Bulldogs in scoring at 18.1 PPG.

Nice to see those guys doing well.

I hated the change. If I wanted to watch gladiator ball I'd watch the NBA. CBB resembles the NBA more and more every day. Yuck.
