Felt like this deserved its own thread.

Hopefully he keeps Woods on at Defensive Coordinator and doesn’t bring in his brother like some are saying. Would be a shame to let Woods walk away.

Keep Woods and hit the ground running to meet all the committed recruits and see who else is out there. Early signing day is coming fast.

Thought as someone else posted on the other thread that he can't hire his brother just like Fran couldn't hire his son. Nepotism laws I believe.

Man, a DC is a pretty high ranking coach to retain for the recruits.

Not saying it can't happen, but isn't that usually a position guy?

Don't get me wrong, I like Woods. I really liked his press conferences. Thought he handled the whole thing well, and kept the team together during a REALLY funky time.

I just want us all to agree that nobody ever says WHOOP or HOOKEM on our campus ever again, especially considering we hired a former Aggie coach.

Burn the kids who wear other schools clothes on campus, this time for real!!!

It will be his brother who’s Co-DC at Tech

Yet Brad was on staff. Unless they do something like make Bob Stitt Associate head coach and he hires the DC

My big thing is what has a texas tech defensive coach ever done to deserve another job? Maybe it's a product of being in the big 12 and recruiting, but their defenses have always been bad.

I meant more for the new HC and others to do that. Maybe send out the big guns to show you want them to stay

the nepotism law is for direct reports, which is why fran jr was the lb coach, not the dc.

that's not a thing.

Who did Brad report to at the end when he became DC?

Really hope Bob Stitt is the OC. Would be good to pair the young coach with a guy who has over 200 college games coached.

It's a great day. The cranky old popcorn gif tweeting assshole is gone, the new young coach is here. He's younger than me (34), that's a new one for me. Makes me question my life choices.
I'm excited about new ideas, schemes, staff, etc..
