Guess this really shows how incompetent Kuhr is about running an offense. Also a gig on withers for poor oc coach selection. Always thought Elliot was an offense minded “gunslinger” “barn burner” type of coach. Kuhr should go coach San Antonio college (no not utsa) intramural football team

Jeez, backup QB in at a time when we can't afford a fumble. Tough call even if WJIII has hurt hand. Would rather see three wildcat runs with no mesh points.

Anyone have any idea on attendance numbers? Looked to be easily under 5000 on their homecoming game.

Don’t be fooled by withers’ back to back wins against the worst two teams in the country. If you need a reference point just see where he gave up 21 points in the 4th quarter to nearly blow the game.

Larry and Withers still need to go. We would be bowl eligible if we just beat UTSA USA and Ga Southetm like we should have

I agree.

It felt good to win but this game didn’t change much for me.

It will be interesting to see how our offense does the rest of the way with our new play caller though.

No 1 game or even championship in non revenue sports will ever be able to change the fact that Teis needs to go. He has been a failure in far too many other areas outside of performance on the field or court to keep his job. The records are just one of the big issues.

Exactly.

Withers could win out, take the Sun Belt championship this year, and win his bowl... Teis still needs to pack his bags. Primarily because I honestly question how well he'd do in promoting the conference championship game, and I already have seen how he promotes the university to bowls to get us invited to the best bowl possible (or any bowl for that matter). He just doesn't get it. He said it in the interview... You have to be ready when they call you. He isn't proactive. He reacts when things happen, which automatically puts us behind every other university in the country.

Now, having said that, if Withers did do that, I might rethink his need to go. But let's be real: The three toughest games on the schedule are coming up, and the odds he runs the table are somewhere between Slim and None.

You're a moron. Why do some of you fools continue to doubt me? There is a not a single guy on that staff - head coach, assistants, GAs, interns - who have any idea about mechanics for specialists (which includes snappers, kickers, punters). Not a single person on that staff. But again, that's not exclusive to just Texas State. Many other FBS schools don't have a guy on staff with that experience.

The problem with Texas State is that they also don't have somebody who knows how to evaluate good specialists. Feel free to see that it took them all spring/fall camp and numerous games last year to put in a far superior long snapper over who was in there. Feel free to look at how many different kickers/punters they used last year or brought on the team hoping somebody could get the job done. It's because they have absolutely no idea about specialists. My guy who was there last season was emphatic about how clueless they were on it and was extremely against who they signed as a kicker.

Brilliant! QBs go to numerous camps throughout high school/college, so we should just save $120K and get rid of QB coaches.

Because any message you are trying to convey gets lost... Because you act like a cunt (sorry CatMom, excuse the language).

Having said that, I seem to recall a few others saying how Withers seemed to hold special teams (mainly the kicking aspect, not so much the return game) in such low regard (almost disdain), which would sort of foot with how our special teams have performed this year. Sub par FG/XP, and really really pedestrian numbers in the punting game.
