Post Our Next AD
Lets Toss out names here! See what everyone comes up with!

Most names I am familiar with are people that have been around the last 10-15 years, but would love to see some fresh faces around instead of retreads.

Don Coryell

Chris Park

David Bailiff

Karen Chisum

Scott Lazenby (former AD at A&M Corpus)

Tim McMurray (AD at A&M Commerce)

Derek Grice (Georgia Tech)

Claude Mathis (AD-Marhsall ISD)

Mack Brown (would never entertain the thought of it, but for sake of this list why not)

Hal Wasson (Irving ISD)

Jared Mosely (Abilene Christian AD for 10 years, Texas Sports Hall of Fame CEO, currently at North Texas)

Lynn Hickey

Look at schools with smaller budgets and well run programs and steal theirs.

Look at P5 schools that are well run and steal their assistant AD.

Create a culture for the new hire that we win in San Marcos and coaches who don't are on a short lease.

Georgia Southern lost their coach to Tulane and hired Summers. Summers sucked in his first year and was fired midseason because it is unacceptable at that program. The new hire a year later has already fixed the issue. I want that kind of accountability.

Huh, didn't know Hal Wasson got another job.

I agree, we should look at some Associate AD's at P5 schools.

Dunno about Lynn Hickey. I loved her as an AD, but didn't she leave UTSA under... questionable circumstances?

I'm thinking outside the box on this idea... But it's solid:

Josh_ooh_ahh.

The guy decided on a plan of action, and went and got donations for it in under 24 hours. True, it was a modest goal, but imagine what the guy could do with the resources that the athletic department has!

lol...
And im just a heavy drinking, middle age rancher with a very small social media following - that's also a dinosaur when it comes to all things internet.
Thankfully I learned enough at TXST to usually be successful at what I choose to take on. I wish our student athletes had the same opportunity.

In fairness, it was like 26-30 hours. I was working at my 9-5 when the goal was reached.

she left when the new pres and her didn't quite see eye to eye. it looked somewhat suspiscious when it happened, but nothing ever came of it - or even any rumors around it. i would take her in a heartbeat.

mathis and wasson? i'd say pass me whatever it is you're smoking, but it seems to be pcp or bath salts...

LOL at Ryan Ivey. They have terrible and declining football attendance and failed to get an athletics student fee passed.

Look at the threads about putting a new staff together. It takes money to buy out EW, money to pay the new coach, and even more money to put a decent staff together. We need an AD that can sell tickets and work with donors to bring in the money. I don't care where the guy comes from, P5 assistant or smaller school, but he needs to be relentless in engaging fans and donors.
