I wouldn’t be angry if we hired Spavital because he is actually a lot of the things I wanted but what concerns me with him is how many Aggie and West Virginia fans I’ve seen that have a strong dislike for him. Even while being the OC of one of the best offenses in the country.

I was never interested in Longo so I really hope it’s not him.

Sucks about Briles, at least all the angry people here can calm down now...I’m sure he’ll get an opportunity at HC somewhere in the future and win.

That is what I am hoping for. Longo seems to be the best of the rest.

would honestly be my pick of the remaining 2 we know about. those sammie offenses were fun to watch.

I actually, like him the most of any of the names that have been out there (other than Kiiff, which was never an option).

We have been good at going after UH OCs and getting them more money to stay where they are.

What kind of offense did SHSU run with Longo and what offense does Ole Miss run now?

dunno about SHSU, but these guys on this SEC board don't seem fond of Longo and talk a bit about his offense:

Agreed. Teis knows he needs to make a good hire with a well known household name to the common fan. Now that briles is out, I think gilbert is just a back up plan in case spavital/longo walk away. This would be worst case scenario

it's more that he's really just not very good at his job. he was bad at usf and not very good at texas (though not sure anyone would have been that good at ut in 2016).

usf:
2016 - 44ppg (yr before sg arrived)
2017 - 38ppg
2018 - 29ppg
