Ok I am confused. I thought brick columns were supposed to be built around the posts holding up the scoreboards? This actually looks really ugly!

In person, they look really good.

Same problems though, never show the replay that matters. Bad ads.

This is because of wacky Sun Belt rules. Basically, only the cameras used in the TV/ESPN3 broadcast can be used for official replays. Schools can't show replays of calls under review unless it's from THOSE cameras (schools have a separate set of cameras for the video board). And on Sat night, KNVA couldn't figure out how to pipe their feed into the stadium, so TXST didn't have access to the broadcast cameras, meaning they weren't allowed to show replays of calls under review on the videoboard.

So in short the operations dudes weren't ready to go. I would think this is something you test ahead of time. But that's just me, I like to do test runs to make sure that when it's "game time" everything runs smoothly and be better prepared for the other minor issues that always arise when it's go time.

you mean like the game actually showing up on the channel at kickoff? i can kind of understand some in-stadium replay issues (sort of...), but to say you're going to broadcast our game and then not have it come gametime is some serious fuckery.

Must have been a "local issue,". as I had the broadcast from start to finish . . ..

If you were streaming on ESPN3 and do not live in the Austin DMA, you had no issues.

If you watched live in the Austin DMA, it was "blacked out" on ESPN3 because it was supposed to be on local TV. But KNVA had all sorts of problems getting the signal to air. It would've been at their control room/transmitter, because obviously the truck could send a signal out to ESPN.
