As a Rutgers fan, they are not looking past you. In fact, you visit one of the message boards (rivals), you'll see a fanbase thinking the sky is always falling.

Well, that's not good news for us. :o :o

I envy the wide open spaces of Texas. Only if we had such things.

It should be a good game. The game is during Labor Day weekend, so if you are planning on spending a few days in the area, you should try to get to the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore (beach) is a little different than your typical beach, and it's about 40 minutes from Rutgers campus. For nighttime entertainment, you could go to NYC (Manhattan) which is 40 minutes north of Campus. Also, you could go to Philly (an hour south) for fun. If you have no desire to travel too far, New Brunswick (Rutgers University) has an active nightlife for a small city. There are lots of restaurants, bars, and several theatres with off-broadway shows. Another option is for individuals who like to gamble, take a trip to Atlantic City. It's a long trip that's almost 2 hours away at the southern tip of NJ. Most of the casinos sit on the beach along the world-famous boardwalk.

Whoa there partner...Atlantic City isn't a 2 hour ride from Rutgers and it's not at the southern tip of NJ. In fact it's 40 miles North of Cape May, which is the town at the Southern tip of NJ!

In fact, a drive from the Rutgers campus to Atlantic City is no more than a one hour drive, and arguably, the best Casino in Atlantic City is the Borgota, which sits on the Bay side of the Atlantic City island, not on the Boardwalk by the Ocean.

But you're right about finding a lot of things to do for anyone that comes up for the game!

Theoretically, you are right but did you factor in traffic? Just the other day I went from Exit 18 on the NJ Turnpike to Exit 9 (Rutgers University) and it took me over 2 hours because of traffic. This was around 4 pm on a weekday. I had to battle traffic coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel, then the traffic from Newark Liberty Airport. Traffic didn't ease up until I reached Exit 11 (Shore traffic). That should have been a 40-minute drive. The Garden State Parkway isn't much better during the warmer months. The game is during Labor Day weekend and traffic down the GS Parkway is going to be a nightmare as people go one last time to the shore. Btw, try the new casinos Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Resort Casino. Both are on the Boardwalk. I'm a lifelong resident of both NY and NJ, so I speak in traffic time.
