Sorta like UAB

not comparable at all. not only was uab allowed to take a 45-50 man class, tons of them got an extra year of eligibility for the missed season. so, they got a byu level of maturity added.

The easy answer is find best players possible to help offense so if that is a JC QB or WR or OL... I'm sure they'll consider it.

Just like any recruiting, better hit more times than miss and we've seen a good amount of misses over the years with JCs (Fran and Withers). Should be interesting to see what we sign this fall and then where we go from there.

Are we assuming we have 25 this class?

I know everyone wants to win now, but why is everyone so eager to go get JUCO kids?

Out of the probably 20+ that we've signed since 2012, only 1 has been an all-conference player (Mayo).

Experience plus give the younger guys more time to learn and not be thrown in the deep end.

I think i'd be OK with signing 3 or so JUCO kids. Not too many but maybe enough to make an impact at positions of need. Maybe 1 or 2 OL for start/depth, 1 on DL for rotating more, and now that we've lost Brown i'd like to bring in an experienced big WR. Certainly could be wrong, but i just don't see stitt/spav using the TE much. At least spav didn't at A&M. As well as withers recruited the defense looks fairly JR/SR heavy?

We could potentially return 9 starters on offense and all 11 on defense. That's not a team that needs JUCO players to plug holes.

We're in good shape personnel wise barring huge attrition due to the coaching change. Build it the right way with HS kids and only take can't miss JUCO guys.

this is why, but it's fools gold more often than not, especially where we feed in the ecosystem. i'm not against taking them, but i find it hilarious when our fans fawn over our juco takes. delancelloti is a perfect example - so many thought he was going to be the 2nd coming because he was the 11th ranked dual threat juco qb, and he never sniffed the field in a meaningful situation.

I’ve confirmed four recruits visiting #TXST this weekend:

La Porte DT Devin Henderson
Belton DE Devin Martinez
Steele CB Chace Cromartie
Sterling RB Calvin Hill

All four are previous commits with Cromartie recently opening up his recruitment.

#TXST OC Bob Stitt was in Oklahoma yesterday morning and met with Kingfisher QB Jett Sternberger (@_jstern5). No offer but Stitt watched him throw and spoke to him for around 40 minutes about playing QB at TXST. Two sport athlete w/ four football and 10 basketball offers.

Something HC Spavital said in most recent radio interview is that finding a QB today is more about "throwing angles" and making throws over dual threat or prototypical QBs of old. Radio guys and Jake were talking about having a QB that can make throws in tight areas over just being a "dual threat" QB was important. Interesting comments. Lets hope Jett likes football more than B-ball!

curious as to who has offered. 247 shows none for either sport and rivals doesn't even have a profile on him.

I noticed that too on 247 with no offers. Checked that twitter and it shows central oklahoma. Didn't get time to look much more.

Mired on the bench he comes in the last two games and shows he was the best QB on the team all along. Now he's transferring.
