Generous spot.....

I think he got it, but not by as much as that spot they gave him.

Morbley drops an easy slant on 3rd and 3 and we punt after picking up a couple first downs.

Withers going into lets-just-keep-it-respectable mode.

Jaylin Nelson gets what I believe to be his first ever carry and promptly fumbles on the first play of the drive.

I think he was down. And now it's under review.

37-3 final.

Quick thoughts:
Defense is much, much, much improved over last year. Front 7 will be able to stop the run and get some pressure on the QB this year. That's a huge step in the right direction.
Entire defense played really well in the first half and were never really overmatched even in the 2nd half. Safety still the biggest question mark on the defense.

Biggest positive takeaway offensively was the ability to run the ball in early downs. CU's defense is really good (a good Colorado State offense only mustered 3 points against them last week also) and we were able to run the ball on them most of the game. We're going to have to develop some type of passing threat though. We were abysmal on 3rd downs and were really only able to connect once downfield. QBs having trouble finding open receivers. Our receivers probably weren't doing a great job getting open today against a good CU secondary.

Withers kind of Franned up in the 2nd half today and just wanted to keep things respectable. I get it as if you get too aggressive we could've given up 50+ points, but I would have liked to see a more concerted effort to get a TD on the board once the game got kind of one-sided.

Onto an early conference game against the league favorites in San Marcos next Saturday. That game will tell us more about where we're at than the last two. We will likely be multi-touchdown underdogs at home.

Well line was at 35 and Sagarin had it at 33, and it ended up being 34. Sucks. Really didn't think it would go down that way after the first half. I had game running on Bobcat radio network hooked up to my aux cable while I was shuttling UT fans around Austin (by the way UT students are the worst f'ing passengers...they really do suck) and headed home somewhere in the 3rd quarter. Turned if off a while as I walked in the door and by the time I turned it back on game was way out of control. Sounds like things just kinda went downhill in the 2nd half.

On another note, since PAC12 Network has is a broadcast partner with ESPN, anyone know if this game will end up on ESPN3 replay later this week?

Same story with Tulsa, Lafayette, Tallahassee, and Fayetteville.

Nice. Silver lining in a pretty depressing situation. I mean I was going to make the trip too (plans fell through) and I know it still would have been great to experience gameday atmosphere in a beautiful mountainous college town. And it's not like anyone had expectations of a grand victory nor hanging with these guys either (thus the reason for that spread). But, one does still hope and it still hurts to watch that unfold.

I'm still just waiting for the day when the tales are flipped in these kind of games and we are rooting and expecting our Bobcats to be able to compete and overtake their opponents. I'm guessing I'm just going to have to wait a little bit longer for that...
