things I am excited about:
-getting to play a conference opponent in week 3, for better or worse it's nice to post a conf record of some sort before week 5 or 6 as in the past
-not having to wait until week 4 to play a home game

not excited about:
-playing CU and app back to back and stAte and Troy back to back on road
-having our 2nd bye week in December, though it was meaningless it was nice and also a little bitter/sweet to have the primetime Saturday real ESPN spot against stAte in December last season

I'm just glad that since we got a Thursday night game, that it was an away game.

The good thing about being bad is it cuts down on weekday games.

All 6 home games on Saturdays is nice.

now only time will tell if we get the 5:30 espnu spot or the 8:30 (like against stAte in 2014), since it's against the Cajuns and the 2014 televised game against them was a bust we had better hope for the 9:30

As hard as I try, I see only one win on that schedule: HBU

Damn, I've made the Lafayette trip both times and have had a blast. Great food and very good fans. That Thursday night game is gonna be tough to make this year.

The Sun Belt bones us again.

Explain to me why we have to play ULM on the Saturday before a Thurs night road game. Talk about a short week. Especially when Both TXST and ULM have the final week of the season open.

Stupid. Pointless. Karl gives it to us again.

pretty weak complaint. thursday night games are great for exposure and playing on a short week is part of the gig. impossible to get bye week before every thurs night game.

The only complaint I have is that we end the season on the road... And I think only once have we ended the season at home since being in the Sun Belt.

It's not a biggie, but still... I'd like for the seniors to be honored the last game of the season, instead of 3 weeks before games are over.

Another tough schedule like last year.

HBU and ULM at home should be wins.

Georgia St has a new coach so maybe a win.

I would like to think CCU is a win as a transitioning team but on the road I think it is a loss.

Maybe NMSU is a win but they've had our number the last tow years.

Aside from that, the rest would be upsets. Except UTSA. They don't deserve that respect.

UTSA smack . niiiice . . I get the hate for the runners, but in light of recent history, we probably should quit talking s$&t about 'em.

In the one and only game we played, they have scoreboard. They've also reached a bowl before we did. In all likelihood, they'll probably beat us again this year. In truth, we really haven't done much in the last two decades. Best we just STFU, and concentrate on our program getting better. I'm no fan of the birds, but I certainly recognize that theirs is a program that seems to be doing more right than we are . . .

Sucks we got bowl eligible twice before they did but our conference didn't have the current tie ins and they got to the actual bowl first. In the end they haven't been much better. But at least they didn't rank 128 out of 128 like we did

Every Sun Belt team except TXST, ULM and Coastal (which is off opening week 9/2) have 4 bye weeks during the season. Because the conference if forcing ULM/TXST to play on 10/7 instead of 12/2 (which both teams were in favor of), we're effective losing a bye week. Putting that bye on 12/2 for both teams is stupid.

I just don't understand why the conference wouldn't listen to member institutions when it was a simple fix that affected no other schools.
