I think we got another OL for the 18 class. Not sure if he's a scholly or PWO.

Hector de Jesus out of San Benito, TX.

After watching his video, he's no doubt an inside guy at G/C but I'm not sure if he's ever played C. He's from San Benito, TX so it is difficult to see if he's highly talented or just bigger than others. One thing I do know, we need more inside OL based on who we have seen (guys like Lemons and Vatterot haven't touched the field much and the same as Gambrell and Washington). If those guys aren't backups, then you gotta find other incoming guys to be the backups be it Carlile, King, Pierce or a few signees.

I'm hearing Hector de Jesus is a PWO and not a ship player.

Also, I'm hearing Langston and Mott are walk-ons. If so, that would put us back to 23 signees/verbals. So we may not be done as some of us think!

which would make things worse in that withers still has 5 scholarships for the 2018 class (given to him) that he may or may not even take advantage of robbing us further of the depth that he needs to give us 'fanatics'

so, you'd rather he tie up scholarships on walk-on level players? makes sense, given your comments on our decommits that are now committed to juco or fcs programs.

Tayjon Martin still wants to go to SMU but SMU still hasn't offered so he is either going to walk on there or be our slight surprise tomorrow as a scholly LOI 8) . Or it may just turn out that he is a nonqualifier...we'll see tomorrow

i never insinuated the 5 scholarships should be wasted on recruits with a .71 composite that is no more confirmation that they have a pulse im just saying we had better not be signing 5 players less than we can tomorrow given the number of nonsigned players still left on the board

Not sure if this means we won't be signing another OL recruit tomorrow but Coach Mateos tweet seems like its indicating as much:

As February signing day arrives, I can’t help but get juiced about the #BIGcats that already signed in Dec. I’ll bet they show to be best OL class TXST has ever had. Bar is set for the 2019 freaks! Go follow the young men: @BigCooks76 @Miles_Mac23 @JalenTheManV @Moore56Morgan!

That would be a peasant surprise. Looks like he deleted his tweet about the Tx State offer which seems really odd to me.

I never saw anything about Tayjon visiting this weekend as he noted early last week. If he didn't visit, I would think he's no longer considering us on his decision or we decided to go another way.

With those recent commits being PWOs, this leaves a lot more interest this late in recruiting.

Per 24/7, De Jesus is a OC (when you look him up on Targets page)

Haven't seen this posted yet... But Alec Fuentes from Lake Travis HS says he is accepting a PWO position in San Marcos.

His Hudl says he's a WR/CB, and 6'1, 185 lbs.

Kid isn't on 247, unranked on Rivals.

So when exactly do we officially lose the excess of the 5 scholarships we have allotted towards the 2018 class? At the end of day today? Or do we have until the end of of the summer? I thought we could still throw them at Jucos after today as a hail mary, so how long do we have to do that for?
