Re: Recruiting 2018: offers, commits/decommits, transfers
Yeah, I saw Redding decommitted. Of all the recruits we have committed, he was the least of losing. TEs aren't make or break positions but having ones that can block and catch balls to bail out QBs are important but even the best TEs need other things before they are good like a good running game so their compliment game of getting open when LBs bite on play action or QB read in order to really do damage.
Sucks to lose any commit but at 6'5/215 and from what I saw he was much more a WR that is listed as a TE ala Rushing that we have and even Rushing still needs to grow into TE position with blocking being his biggest obstacle so far.
We'll still add likely 2 TEs in this class is my guess.

Re: Recruiting 2018: offers, commits/decommits, transfers
I know FCS usually must sit out when they go FBS but he's a Preferred walk-on so I'm wondering if they'll try to do a waiver on him. If he must sit, then I'm assuming Ballard (SFA transfer this past spring) must sit as well.

Re: Recruiting 2018: offers, commits/decommits, transfers
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but if he was a non-recruited walk-on at UCA, he can transfer and not have to sit out a year. "Recruited" is defined as:
• If they provide the prospect with an official visit. • If they have an off-campus contact with the prospect or the prospect’s parents or legal guardians. • If they offer the prospect a National Letter of Intent or an athletic scholarship agreement. • If they initiate a telephone conversation with the prospect or his parents or legal guardians more than one time.
There may be more or less restrictions at the conference level, too, as well as practice participation limits I think. Just trying to piece together what I remember from the Baker Mayfield situation last summer and quick google search.

@LDAnthony25 Jun 20 Blessed to say I have received an offer from Texas State University #TheProw18 #AGTG
lanam @Jacksonlanam21 Jul 20 Feeling blessed to have visited Texas State, and received an offer from them. Had an amazing time up here. #GoBobcats #TXST
This young man visited this week.
Lone Star Showcase @LoneStarCamp Jun 20 S/O to 2018 LB/DE Nathan Niedrauer for picking up an offer from Texas State!
Logan Compton @logancompton80 Jun 21 Blessed to say that I've received an offer from Texas State!! #PartyInTheEndzone @CoachMayesTxSt @TXSTATEFOOTBALL
Trevor Lawrence @Trevor1255 8h8 hours ago Texas State showed some love to us today‼️
Trevor was on campus today and already has an offer.
Also, I couldn't find his tweet but I know we offered a DE/DT Nathalohn Nanai and I do believe we offered another OL either this week or late last week.
We've been busy.

Withers and posse can offer as many people as they want all year long but they'll find there's a huge difference between getting an offer out and getting a commit...

Why don't think take the recruits to the Float Fest? I guess if the players go, Withers will kick them off of the team.

Who are we... Phil Jackson? Ha! We stuck in the late 80s and early 90s with "posse"! https://youtu.be/DfOJaoeE3mQ

Re: Recruiting 2018: offers, commits/decommits, transfers
Looking at our outstanding 2018 offers as the 2017 season is just on the horizon here are some of the recruits that we've offered and still stand a chance of landing:
Stanley Lambert, WR .8496 Caden Leggett, WR .8226 Imiee Cooksey, WR .8004 Josh Owens, OT .7632 Steven Shaw, DE .8205 Braden Cassity, DE .8266 D'emrik Thomas, DE .8099 Marcus Mosley, DE .8221 Marquise ConcholaDE .8538 Jace Waters LB .8004 Jordan Rucker CB .8277 Rodney McGraw S .8388 Ladarius Anthony S .8165 Tyrus Wheat S .7993
Other than these guys we're pretty much at the mercy of P5s filling class for early signing day and pulling offers on some of the lower guys on their radar, or someone decommits and commits to us....or we continue to make more offers though at this point in time not sure how many more quality guys are out there to extend offers to

Canaquedista Man wrote: Why don't think take the recruits to the Float Fest? I guess if the players go, Withers will kick them off of the team. Because as festivals go, that one really sucks. Terrible logistics now a couple years in a row. The promoter might have good music connections, but he can't run a festival to save his life. It was borderline dangerous this year.

Lack of water stations in 100+ degree weather
Lack of shitters, leading to overflowing
Lack of transportation logistics (shuttle system was terrible)
Lack of sufficient staffing
And now the San Marcos River looks like the riverbed is silver from all of the sunk cans, and that is even with a team of volunteers in the river completely unrelated to FloatFest trying to prevent it
Sorry... FloatFest is a sore spot for me. If you want to know where draconian government regulations come from, it is a direct result of bad actors like the FloatFest promoters. They need to go take lessons from ACLFest, because that group somehow managed to make peace with an impressively engaged & uppity neighborhood adjacent to Zilker Park.

Per EWs twitter it can be assumed this low 2** DT just committed Nathalohn Nanai® Retweeted everett withers @everett_withers Just got some good news from a big time man up front. Re: Recruiting 2018: offers, commits/decommits, transfers
3rd DL Commit and 2nd in 2 days! Keff Ciardello @Keff_C 28m 28 minutes ago Keff Ciardello Retweeted Trevor Lawrence #TXST COMMIT No. 14: Whitehouse DE Trevor Lawrence. 6'5", 250-lbs, c/o 2018. Offers from #ULM and Arkansas Tech. http://www.hudl.com/profile/4478723/trevor-lawrence … I remember watching his Hudl video and was happy he visited or was scheduled to a few weeks ago during our heavy recruiting weekend (The #PartyinthePark event we've done last 2 years). He came to TXST again this past weekend, I believe. Now, it seems we have a DT, NT, and DE types in Lawrence, Nanai, and Lynch. I'm sure we may consider adding one more based on position need be it DT, NT, or DE. Either way, its good to know we have 5 OL and 3 DL commits for our base needs. I wouldn't be surprised to see both sides of ball add another OL/DL before recruiting class is done.
