I am hoping we aren't done and can add one of those DTs by end of the week.

This is a great start no doubt.

These DTs are a hot commodity and they know it.

#TXST COMMIT No. 12: Jarron Morris @_Morris_Era, West Orange-Stark CB. Decommitted from #SMU. 3-star, c/o 18.

I want to comment on Jarron Morris. This kid is quite possibly the best recruit we have in this class. Remember Demarcus Ayers who eventually landed at UH. This kid has the same play making ability as an Athlete. Check out his highlights against Orangefield, the kid's vision is unreal. Hope we hold onto him.

from perroni on twitter:

More good news for #TXST coming soon. Bobcats are red-hot. No commits to 12 in less than a week

(at airport on mobile so sorry for no link)

2017 was our best class ever (by a wide margin). currently tracking for a similar class in 2018.

2017: 79.17 avg, 10/26 *** (38.5% of class)
2018: 79.01 avg, 6/12 *** (50% of class)

I wouldn't sleep on Costilla since he still has yet to receive any other offers... I know he will eventually it's just strange that he hasn't yet
though on the other hand York is as good as gone as he received an offer from just about all the Ivies and SDSU and USM

Treston Price-- can't find anything anywhere on him so it makes me think he hung up the cleats altogether and didn't even try to pursue juco ball... so much for getting him into the 2019 class

Devin Williams-- looked like he did really well in the Blinn spring game... since he took the 2016 season off from football altogether does he still have to do 2 juco seasons before he can qualify for FBS... or can we offer him into the 2018 class?

There is no rule that JUCO players have to play 2 seasons even if they go straight JUCO out of HS. I don't think so at least. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Kaspar seems to be a fan of recruiting JUCO guys with 3 years of eligibility left.

As for Costilla, seems very rare for a player to decommit from a school them recommit later down the road. I can't think of a single instance of that occurring off the top of my head.

Didn't that just happen with us? Wasn't there a QB that committed during Fran, decommitted, then came back once Withers got here? Devin Williams maybe?

Update: yah, I think it was Devin.

Good call. Without a coaching change I doubt he recommits though.

There's irony in that statement...

Why commit, if you are just going to de-commit?

Yeah, exactly. Apparently, only he's allowed to change his mind.

SDSU over Harvard? Unless you're pretty sure that you're good enough to go first round of NFL draft and think you need the FBS exposure to help you why would you pass on a free Harvard education? Harvard FCS athletic schollies must not cover 100% of costs...

But even if you think you need more exposure are you really going to get that much more at a G5 over an FCS... it would make more sense if it was p5 offer over FCS

going FCS Ivy didn't seem to hurt Fitzpatrick's NFL chances

IIRC, Ivy League schools offer no sort of athletic scholarships
