This is the last go around for those guys.

Down to 10 for football starting in 2018. I'm interested to see what direction they go for scheduling in 2018 and beyond. My guess is we break into divisions and rotate one team a year from the other division not to play each year to keep it to 8 conference games. I think a conference championship game could come as early as 2018 also if we do break into divisions.

Probably would be:
West: Texas State, Arkansas State, UL-Monroe, UL-Lafayette, South Alabama
East: Troy, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State

They came in on a 4 year contract with renewal or expulsion after 2.
Voted Fall of 2013 for 4 years. 2014-17

With the addition of CCU they had the vote (I think January 2016) and they got booted.

I dont mind having NMSU but the travel costs to Idaho seem a bit extreme for the average budget in our conference. I heard they are going to go FCS.

The travel costs (subsidies), for every other team, were covered by Idaho and NMSU in lieu of CFB payouts so there was minimal drain on any other program.

Yes, Idaho is dropping to FCS. Their AD decided that and it's final. Their fans and money people are not happy that he did not, at least, take a stab at Indy for a year or two, like NMSU is doing.

Some SBC teams are already scheduling with NMSU to help them make it work. (Mainly the schools that wanted to keep NMSU and make them an all sports add)
