I thought beer was already approved for football games this year?

I love his honesty and goal to get 2018 commits earlier, it's what bigger programs do.

no program has 8 commits by oct for a class 2 febs away. a handful of top programs may have a handful.

wish i could have made it and even left work early to do so, but after seeing the traffic in the rain, no way.

i hope taxman's fingers were cramping as he typed the tweets about tyler.

For discussion related to the stadium stay on this thread
http://bobcatfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=26160&start=30

Here is recent news about drink sales in general across the collegiate landscape
http://www.cbssports.com/college-footba%20...%20e-already/

40 stadiums will offer adult beverages this fall for college games so though it hasn't been confirmed it's looking like a decent chance it will happen at Bobcat Stadium

Oregon also did a study

Just curious about what occurred and the interaction between them. Still, I think that it takes serious nuts to let go of that many starters at that position. Many coaches would never have done that. Especially when there had been other losses on the OL.

Keff's article: http://www.texasredzonereport.com/2016/06/withers-transcript-from-alumni-event/

Tpot...

Agreed that many coaches may not have done it but there are a few things that allowed it. First, APR must have been in good condition to be able to lose 17ish players and still have a decent APR. If that was an issue, I'm pretty sure Withers would have had his hand tied. In this case, they weren't. Second, Coach Withers in his 1st press conference indicated he understands "fanatics" and to me that means he wants to be able to get his players in year instead of wasting time with a redshirt freshman, a sophomore, and a junior that weren't going to help the team and likely would hurt the team be it in the locker room or worse... on the field. We saw it affect Kaspar's first team and it likely took Kaspar the last 2 seasons to try and break those poor habits. Third, he noted he doesn't want "disheartened and disinterested" players. With this, he's dropped bad habit players and/or lack of work ethic type guys. That means cutting the fat from the meat of the team in order to get better even if that means building from within (year 1) and bringing in players that work hard and have talent that he can use.

I'm sure we can read between the lines as to what "disheartened and disinterested" players means and it means not welcome any longer at TXST. No more players that quit before or after season begins, No more players getting away with penalty after penalty each game with no true discipline, No more means NO MORE!

He's quite direct and many of you wanted that. Maybe its too direct but we wanted it and now we have it. He doesn't tell you that we'll win so many games but what he does tell us is that we'll be young, inexperience... yet we'll work hard and not give up. For our first season, I can live with those things.

I had posted a clip about the A&M strength coach and how he works his players out differently by position and it seems we have a similar strength coach doing the same. I love it. No more bulky strong guys (a Fran Staple) over position specific strong, athletic guys. I'm most interested to see if certain big guys are leaner like say Melton listed last year at 337... imagine if he drops to 315ish and is running at you! Not sure if that is likely but its possible. Same for other OL and DL players.

Withers is trying to run his program as close to Urban Meyer as he can.

I stick with my story on this….It’s easy to replace 3 guys who can’t catch or run routes correctly and apparently can’t follow team rules. Them being released was a strong message to the rest of the team. Those 3 guys are not going to make or break this team. For the past 2 seasons, I have watched the other Sun Belt teams and wondered, “Why can’t we have receivers like that?!” Other than Ijah or Miller, I wasn’t confident in any of them.

all that matters is that they were in good academic standing at the time they left. kentucky basketball has more one-and-dones than any other ncaa program and their last 5 apr:
rolling: 1000 - 995 - 989 - 963 - 963
annual: 1000 - 1000 - 1000 - 997 - 979
