Post Conference and playoffs
We have to win out, CA and NW each have to lose 2 games. Who wins if there is a tie?

Central Arkansas 3-1
Northwestern State 3-1
McNeese State 2-2
Texas State 2-2
Stephen F. Austin 2-2
Nicholls State 2-2
Southeastern Louisiana 1-3
Sam Houston State 1-3

"Now, if there is a tie between two schools, the winner of the head-to-head meeting would advance. If there is a three-way tie, then the school which has gone the longest without making the playoffs would move on if neither of the teams had the head-to-head advantage over the others."

i posted this article a week or so ago. basically, i clipped out the explantion if a tie were to open.

UCA can't make the playoffs since they are provisional.

So when you look at those standings, don't even look at UCA. All they can do is help us at this point, because right now it's a log jam at second.

Don't forget -- this year's "special" -- the AQ clinches a road game at a Big Sky school TBA. Either Weber State (who could be a seed) or Montana. :D

"Congratulations SLC qualifier, your prize, an @ss whipping"!!

I think Weber State is even better than Montana this year.

It's really possible for Texas State to win out. I mean, it's going to be unlikely, judging on how the Bobcats have played at home against the run and Nicholls looming, but it's anyone's league still. One loss and they're done, so we'll see how the boys come out and play. These last three games are also the difference between a winning and losing record.

so true... we are due up for a win at home. the only home game i missed this year was Texas Southern. i did make the smu game. therefore, i have not seen a win since the first game (angelo st). i'm itching to see a big victory...

Post Re: Conference and playoffs
ummmm.... I just checked the schedule, and I noticed something peculiar.

We haven't beaten some team called "Southeastern Louisiana" yet. That can't be right, can it? Says that they've had a bunch of close losses and beat that team that just beat us. Can anyone shed some light on that before our next game with Nicholls?

To the fans that think they can win out, I can see you lose out as well.

SLU -- they can take you via air or ground
Nicholls -- your typical problems
SHSU -- Bomar and possibly Whitten's last game, they may be beyond eliminated, but outside of SFA, got to figure this is a game they can get worked up.

I am not saying this as smack against your squad, I think the SLC won't be decided until the final SLC game of the year has zeroes on the clock. This is fun boys! Enjoy your games, but other games around the league as well...

Terror is exactly right. This team is pretty inconsistent. They are capable of going 3-0, but are just as capable of going 0-3.

Does our league have any consistent teams? Would have to say the team that is hot now is Nicholls.

Post Re: Conference and playoffs
If NWST loses to UCA and McNeese and we win out we would be tied for second place. We would also have beaten every team that is tied with us if the current standings hold. We would have 2 conference loses, McNeese would have 2 conference loses, SFA would have two. In going undefeted we would give Nichols their 3rd conference lose.

My question is do we take the playoff spot in this senario because we have beatin both the other two teams tied with us or does that count as a tie? If it counts as a tie then it would send the team who has the longest play off drought which would be SFA.
