I think there is something wrong with this statement. Congrats to the girls for a great regular season but we haven't won the over all championship yet. Southland Conference Tournament starts on Friday in Lake Charles. So equate this to what womens basketball did last year in the regular season.

Here's to hoping they continue their success and finish this season off with a tournament victory!

This gets me pretty upset...

That the women can have such a good season, and we barely hear about it

but

Two days after Coach Wright loses another football game, the athletic department sends an update asking people to vote him coach of the year.

I get football is king, and always will be but the lack of coverage here is pretty pathetic.

I voted for Henry Frasier III, head coach @ PVAM...Henry Frazier III is in his fifth season as head coach of the Prairie View A&M University Panthers. Last season Frazier led the Panthers to their first winning season in thirty years and most wins in over four decades. Prior to his arrival, Prairie View had posted two consecutive one win seasons in 2002 and 2003. In his first season at PVAMU, Frazier led the Panthers to their most wins since 2001 by winning a total of three games. In 2005, Frazier continued Prairie View’s upward swing and guided the Panthers to their best season since 1988 with a 5-6 record. In 2007 Frazier after leading the Panthers to their first winning season since 1976 and most wins since 1964 he was selected as Coach of the Year by the College Sporting News and the Black Sports Page. 2008 Record so far is 7-1.

Big deal...........

Even the pathetic crowd for the game last weekend (estimated by many to be 7,000) is more than what soccer draws for the entire year!

What, are we going to celebrate conference champions in four square too?

Soccer exists because of football. If there were no football at Texas State there would be no soccer.

Eat a dick, asshole.

These ladies have worked their collective asses off not just winning, but dominating the conference. Several of their key stats put them in the top 10 in the country. Yet here you are, clubbing them like baby seals because you consider football the be all-end all of collegiate sports. Are you going to tell me that our baseball & softball teams don't matter as well? Those aren't exactly massive crowd generators either. Have you been to a men's or women's basketball game recently? It would take 5-6 of those games to equal a football game's attendance. I guess they don't matter either though.

Soccer is a mainstream collegiate sport, and has been for several decades. Heck, soccer has been a mainstream world sport, which cannot be said even for American football.

The soccer team has done wonderful this year! They deserve only positive things! I can't believe people choose to find some way to say "they exist because of football" or whatever. Soccer brings in great crowds (more than a lot of college teams) and obviously if you had attended a game this year you would know that.

My thoughts: if you don't want to support the soccer team (or any bobcat except football) or think that they are here only because of football then fine - just keep your mouth shut and let the team have their time in the sun. They have earned this UNDEFEATED season and NATIONAL RANKINGS and deserve everything.

GOOD LUCK TO THE SOCCER TEAM!!!! If you are reading this board - know that the stupid comments of a very few people on this board are those of people who are not true BOBCATS! True BOBCATS are very proud of you!!!!!

IF YOU ARE A BOBCAT - then any and all success by Bobcats should be celebrated!
