Can we count on THIS Bush?
Reading some of the other topics, and given the season he had last year as a part-timer to start off the year in '07, can Karrington Bush rush for 1,500 yds if given the chance? I understand that the OL has some questions, but KB has great vision and some nifty moves/acceleration.

I don't see how RB by committee can get him 1500 yards.

Not this year because Stan it there but the season after that or his senior season...it could happen if he gets the touches.

I agree, I wish Stan didn't suffer from the injury bug so often, otherwise this would be a clear answer. But KB does deserve the lion's share of carries IMHO.

To be honest i dont want Bush to have more than 1500 yards rushing. I would like to see him in the 1200-1400 range with 200 recieving yards.
We can give those 300-400 tough yards to somebody else like Stan, Alvin or whoever. I want Bush to be healthy for every game and fresh for every snap. I want him to be the ready for the big play. The only thing worse than facing an explosive back is facing an explosive back who is fresh every time he goes in the game.

I have to agree the general consensus that I don't really want him to get 1500 yds. We have to keep fresh RBs in, and we got three REALLY good ones in KB, SZ and AC. KB should have over 1000 again though.

You must remember that when Claude Mathis was running loose here, he took a lot of pressure off David Williams and he became one of the more prolific passers in our school history (until Nealy shattered all his records). I think BG and Toon (if he plays) would benefit greatly in that department if we force-fed KB the ball. The main thing about this year is that we have what is disputably a key to winning a championship at any level, triplets (QB George, RB Bush, WR Luke). Having that depth at RB also helps to our advantage to keep KB fresh and injury free.

I voted no only because I agree with the statements above. We run a balanced attack that uses multiple backs and works best when the Defense has to account for each back at all times. KBush will have big plays and will reach 1100. for the season. Stan will have similar numbers. Alvin will have better rushing averages but will have better passing yardage and Rivas will end the season with over 500.

 yep
I agree with West Texas cat on this. Also, we have a 12 game season this year. It will be more difficult to reach the finish line healthy. Debth will be an issue for all teams this year. I hope we have an edge in this area, but am not sure. The Cowboys may have the most debth.

I think the answer is that we we should be great on the ground (and on offense overall).
We rushed for just shy of 200 yards per game last year and we return almost all (98%) the players who accounted for those yards!

Why feed the ball to one back? See who is hot and feed that player the ball. Make the others role players for the game. The more versatile we are the harder we will be to stop. Other teams will not be able to key on one player. Some one will go unaccounted for and when they adjust so will we.

Don't discount the passing game. I'm not sure BG is the man yet, but I wouldn't want him playing for Sam or SELA or anyone else.
