Some like it some dont.

I say we spend the money. Go DI-A/FBS even if its in the Sun Belt. Prove ourselves and be ready when C-USA comes calling.

It may be a neccessary evil because it will be real tough to go from DI-AA/FCS to C-USA.

Regarding money...

I'm still curious about why we spend so much more than even some Sunbelt teams, and yet have nothing to show for it.

Louisiana-Monroe competes in all the sports we do, with 20 more football scholarships, and spends LESS per year than we do.

Are utilities that much more expensive in San Marcos than in Monroe, LA?

Where is all the money going, Larry? Theoretically, we should be able to move to the Sunbelt NOW without raising the AD budget a single penny, but we can't do that because that money is being thrown away.

100k? For what? Some cheap lycra-spandex and batons?

Think Bailiff would have stayed if we would have given him a 100k payraise? I think so! He'd be making near a 1/4 mil a year.

So the question is, would you rather have had Bailiff or the Strutters?

Bad prioritizing there.

Yard Dawg, I think you would be amazed at just how much $$ the Strutters to generate via summer camps, spring invitationals, etc. Definitely more than any other camps in AD.

You are a bad fan. You do not question the Athletic Department or the AD at all. You just be thankful we even HAVE one! That's the way you should be.

I for one am grateful we have an AD who gets stuff done within a decade timeframe. Who cares if other universities that are not spending 3/4 of our budget gets the same projects done in a third of the time? Who cares if other universities are actually interested in seeing their athletic department succeed? We have an AD with COOL HAIR!

Say what you want about me, but when you talk bad of the strutters, you are crossing the line. Sure, they put a hurting on the buffet at the Golden Cow from time to time. Sure, they aren't always in sync when they do the lonely girl dance at halftime... But DAMMIT, I LOVE THEM.

Let's talk about any other budget area... but leave my strutters alone.

How could I be so rash? You are correct. I am but a small fish, and do not have the right to an opinion!

Thats not how much he makes, that is the budget of his office and everyone who works in it. Larry makes roughly $123k a year..but i don't have the budget break down in front of me. But it is six figures.

In reading that thread those people need some correcting. They are talking about out attendace vs. their members. We compare favorably with Rice, SMU and even their conference champion Houston with a stadium that seats less that half of those. I think the only person that got it right was the guy who talked about giving C-USA a new market between San Antonio and Austin. I know I am biased but I just wish someone over there would do their homework.
