Post Bobcat Stadium on Friday Night Lights
If anyone watched this past week's episode of Friday Night Lights, I'm sure they noticed a scene that was filmed at Bobcat Stadium. A player is trying to walk-on to the football team at A&M, and he makes his audition during a practice session at "Kyle Field". I never realized until now that Kyle Field looks exactly like Bobcat Stadium, right down to the gaps between the ECZ and the stands. They basically just hung a couple of banners that said Texas A&M over any part of BCS that would identify it. Def. made me chuckle a bit.

I know they've used Bobcat Stadium in past as Texas Methodist University, or whatever fake college the coach got hired at.

I just wonder how much NBC paid A&M to use bits and pieces of Kyle field AND the A&M uniforms.....remember the Seattle Seahawks /A&M feud just by the use of "Home of the 12th man??"

seems like it'd been cheaper to send a camera crew to CS instead of doing all that CGI work to make the stadium look bigger.

Well...they did send a camera crew to CS to get the shots of the stadium they needed.

The way they did it was actually cheaper. You would have had to have transported a LOT of people and equipment to CS just for that one little shot.

Isn't that the episode where Brad Wright made a cameo appearance?

You can also see the Southland logo on the field in the first picture.

OOH! And in the second pic, it looks like the SuperCat at Midfield made a cameo too!

Funny. I like it.

Also note in the second pic, just inside the 30 yard line, is the name "Jim."

He lives on.
