Is it fresh air, another gym, weight room, maybe the ladies shower? What I'm getting at is what would we do if we got rid of that wall? What goes there? So please, that's a two question deal: What's on the other side, and what can we do with that are?

Someone that said that there were gas lines behind it, but I don't know if that's true. I always heard they just ran out of money when they built Strahan and couldn't complete it or something like that.

Re: Possible home games for basketball
I actually kind of like the wall because it helps trap a fair bit of noise in the building. As a result, the building can get pretty loud on the floor when we get 2,500-3,000 fans at a game. I spent a year at KU before coming to Texas State, and I went to plenty of games in Allen Fieldhouse. While I obviously haven't been to a Bobcat game that came close to matching the noise levels of the loudest game in Allen, I've been to a few games against Sam/UTSA where it got really, really loud on the floor. I would say that those games in Strahan were comparable with games where KU would play somebody good like Oklahoma State, but not on the level of an elite team or a rival like Mizzou.
Can you imagine what it would be like if hell froze over and we sold out a basketball game? I honestly think Texas State could use the wall to their advantage. I'm probably drinking some kool-aid, but I think that Strahan could be one of the loudest stadiums in the country in its current form if we could get strong attendance at every game. Obviously, that's probably a LONG time off, but hey, dare to dream, right?

Didn't TXST (the user, not the school) have a drawing of what could be there instead of the wall?Ill have to go back and find it...

Re: Possible home games for basketball
I can understand why people hate the wall. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world. However, I think that there need to be a few other things addressed first before taking a look at the wall:
-Lighting -Concourses -Gameday atmosphere -Overall team competitiveness, most of all!
The new renovations should help some of these issues, of course. However, I really don't think that the wall should be torn down until we're consistently selling out every game. Otherwise, we lose ANY uniqueness that Strahan offers, ugly or not, and I would argue that in some games we would lose a significant contributor to a home court advantage as I stated earlier.
