 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
I believe that the university has already placed the south endzone expansion on the agenda for construction in 2014. Would put capacity at about 35,000.

Our friend TXST seems to have inside info and disagrees with you. From what I learned last week, we badly trail UTSA in season ticket sales and foundation support (Bobcat Club). Not even close. Add their location in the heart of the San Antonio TV market and their advantage is even bigger. And, of course, what we've done on the field does almost nothing to close the gap.

His statement was not discounting the season ticket sales. He was saying that the stadium expansion was continuing forward regardless of season ticket sales.

 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
I had read in a newspaper article (IIRC Statesman) , that by the end of the lockup period at the end of March Tx St had sold about 40K worth of season tickets which depending on the pricing only amounts to ~350 seats. I guess that includes only people who had season tickets in 2011, but I would have hoped that number would be close to 1000. When it comes to UTSA alot of those tickets are going to be bought up initially by dealers/scalpers to offer on a secondary market since it is in SA.

 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
I was told we're at around 3,000. Way too low.

 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
They have guys working on the stadium today. I give them about two weeks and the stands will be complete.

I like the idea of bricks, but I wish they were putting that effort into taking up the track instead.

Now, if we are just TRYING to complain... I'd say I wish they used some of that brick on the "student" side to spruce that up some, since we will have FBS university visitors coming by. But that is truly SEARCHING for something to bitch about.

 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
so with the track gone are they going to do anything about the 4-5 row gap between the new section and the lower deck? it looks pretty bad IMO.
i dont know why they wouldnt just add on a few more rows to the bottom and even it out.

i dont know why they wouldnt just add on a few more rows to the bottom and even it out. Last I heard, that will be turf space. Don't think they can add too much seating there, given that you could barely (or not at all) see the field. Maybe a VIP box that's like 100 seats per side would be cool. Invite any famous alumnus out there to sit and watch the game. Hell, dip into the pseudo-famous (like me... )... Just get more butts in the stands.

 Re: Bobcat Stadium Webcam
