Texas State University President Denise Trauth and athletic director Larry Teis announced Tuesday that head football coach Brad Wright has signed a three-year contract extension to coach the Bobcats through the 2012 season. Wright’s contract includes an increase in base pay along with eight different performance-base incentives ranging from winning each game to winning a national championship. Read more

In a game in which the Texas State men’s basketball team weathered an early storm, Sam Houston’s State’s backcourt combination of Corey Almond and Ashton Mitchell proved to be too much for the Bobcats to overcome on Wednesday night, Jan. 20 in Johnson Coliseum.
Almond and Mitchell combined for 41 points, and post players Antuan Bootle and Preston Brown added 12 points each to lead Sam Houston State to a 95-64 victory over Texas State. Almond finished the game with 22 points and Mitchell added 19 for the Bearkats, who improved to 11-5 overall and 3-0 in Southland Conference play. Read more

Last night (1/13/10) was my first game of the season and all I can say is that we should not lose a home game to that A&M CC team. There is enough talent there to be a top 3 team in the conference but I believe we will finish towards the bottom.
