Signs Four Players For 2010-11 Season

Texas State head men’s basketball coach Doug Davalos has announced the signing of four players for the 2010-11 season. The Bobcats signed Nick Hinton from Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas, Stevie Rogers of Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn., Travis Jones of Lon Morris College, and Reid Koenen of Prairie School High School in Racine, Wis. Sam Houston Downed 101-97 In OT

On a day when Texas State honored its 1960 national championship team and two senior players, the men’s basketball team came from behind to defeat Sam Houston State 101-97 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Strahan Coliseum.
The Bobcats honored senior John Rybak and Emmanuel Bidias A’ Moute in a pre-game ceremony and celebrated the 50-year anniversary for its 1960 NAIA national championship team at halftime before the Bobcats overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half to record the victory. It is the second time in the last three years that Texas State has defeated a Southland Conference champion in a final regular season game. Falls 77-70 vs SFA

It was a tale of two halves at Strahan Coliseum Wednesday night as Stephen F. Austin used a pair of decisive runs to overtake the Texas State men’s basketball team and pull out a 77-70 victory.
The Lumberjacks had five players score in double figures as Eddie Williams led SFA with 20 points. Jereal Scott added 17 points and nine rebounds, Walt Harris netted 14 points, Orren Tims came off the bench to add 11 and Denzel Barnes scored 10. Read more
Beats Lamar 81-67 improves to 6-5(SLC)

The Texas State men’s basketball team used a balance offensive attack and forced 23 turnovers to defeat Lamar 81-67 on Saturday, February 13 at Strahan Coliseum.
Cameron Johnson scored 19 points to lead Texas State as he was one of four Bobcats to score in double figures. Ryan White added 16 points and three assists despite suffering an ankle injury midway in the first half. Tony Bishop came off the bench to net 11 and John Bowman added 10 points for the Bobcats, who improved their overall record to 12-13 and their Southland Conference mark to 6-5.
The victory also was Texas State’s 10th win at home this year. It gives the Bobcats two straight seasons with double digit victories in Strahan Coliseum. Texas State won 11 home games in 2008-09. This marks the second time in school history that the Bobcats have won double-digit home games two seasons in a row. Read more
95-88 Victory Over McNeese

Cameron Johnson scored 29 points and three other Bobcats came off the bench to score in double figures to lead the Texas State men’s basketball team to a 95-88 victory over McNeese State Saturday afternoon in Strahan Coliseum.
J. B. Conley scored 17 points, while Uriel Segura and Tony Bishop each netted 11 points off the bench for Texas State. Bishop also pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
McNeese State was led by Stephan Martin’s 24 points off the bench and Will Morning added 20 points. Diego Kapelan scored 17 points and Patrick Richard added 13. Read more
