Football Tickets On Sale

Highlighted by six home games, Texas State announced that season tickets for its 2010 football games are now on sale at the Texas State Ticket Office. The six home games include non-conference games against Southern Arkansas on Sept. 11, Cal Poly on Sept. 18 and Southern Utah on Sept. 25.

Sam Houston Downed 101-97 In OT

On a day when Texas State honored its 1960 national championship team and two senior players, the men’s basketball team came from behind to defeat Sam Houston State 101-97 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Strahan Coliseum.

The Bobcats honored senior John Rybak and Emmanuel Bidias A’ Moute in a pre-game ceremony and celebrated the 50-year anniversary for its 1960 NAIA national championship team at halftime before the Bobcats overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half to record the victory. It is the second time in the last three years that Texas State has defeated a Southland Conference champion in a final regular season game. In addition to Saturday’s win over this year’s SLC regular-season champion, Texas State defeated UT Arlington, 97-86, to end the 2007-08 regular season. Read more

Two Homers in Run Rule over Bearkats

Texas State dominated Sam Houston State this afternoon at Bobcat Field, beating the Bearkats 9-1 in six innings. Anna Hernandez led the attack by adding two more home runs to her resume and ending the Bearkats thoughts of a comeback. The Bobcats improve their overall record to 8-11, 5-1 in the SLC. The Bearkats loss drops them to 4-14, 0-6 in the SLC. Read more

FCS Championship In Frisco

INDIANAPOLIS— Frisco, Texas, has been selected as the new host site for the NCAA Division I Football Championship game. Frisco emerged from a pool of several cities that submitted bids to serve as the host site for the championship game for the next three years, beginning with the 2010 season. Hosted by the Southland Conference, the championship game will be played at Pizza Hut Park on January 7, 2011. Read more
