Texas State Tailgating Rules – Dark Side

April 29, 2008

tailgateTailgating at Texas State will have a whole new feel in 2009. Students who have always tailgated on the “Light Side” parking lot may not notice too much change except for the parking lot felling a bit more crowded due to new tailgating and parking rules on the “Dark Side”. Here is what we know is going on with dark side tailgating as of now.

Use the above link to reference info below:

-The west side parking lot has been broken into segments for the 2009 football season.  Lot 1 will be the new parking lot in front of the new west side addition and be for suite holders, presidential guests, etc.

-Lot 2, Lot 3 & Lot 4 will be sectioned off areas in the west side parking lot for designated parking based on Bobcat Club giving level.

-The end of the West side lot that pushes up against the railroad tracks will be for staff, game day personal, concessions workers, CSC workers, etc on game days.

-We ask that these designated lots be used as parking only, and not multiple spaces used for tailgating.

-The designated RV/Tailgate area within the west side lot will be for RV’s and any cars that would like to setup a tailgate within that lot.  To bring a vehicle into that lot you must display ANY of the Lot passes or an RV pass.  Fans are more than encouraged to also park in their designated lot and walk over to this area to tailgate and party.

The goal for the designated lots is to ensure quality parking for Bobcat Club members and high level donors in the suite level.  Under this method high level donors can arrive two hours or two minutes before a game and know they can park in their designated lot.  Also, not allowing $5 parking in the west side lot creates the awareness amongst fans, alumni and supporters that to get great, guaranteed parking on game day you must be a Bobcat Club member.
