Caution ‘Rogue Cop’ Back On ‘Duty’

July 6, 2010

So when can you fire a police officer? Apparently for the city of San Marcos and Police Chief Howard Williams it’s a whole lot harder than one would think. Not to mention tax payers having to issue out back pay for the time he spent on indefinite suspension.

Check out a full story at San Marcos Local News.
Hearing clears Stephens of wrong doing

UPDATE – San Marcos Daily Record

Dogged by past officer hopes to prove himself – Looks like he will be sitting behind a desk

The infamous dog incident. This is NOT what Stephens was on indefinite suspension but rather for the use of excessive force, violation of a general order and dishonesty during an administrative investigation according to Chief Williams for an incident outside Dillingers on the square.

I don’t mind the officer calling the kid on driving too fast, but since there were “multiple units” there, couldn’t one of them have brought the dog to the emergency vet? That’s the thing about cops… even when they realize what’s going on, they waste your time for a lecture that you’re probably not even listening to. I give props to the kid for not going absolutely nuts.

This isn’t t and shouldn’t be the forum for posting this kind of stuff. Its needs to be removed from the website… It has nothing to do with Texas State Athletics or Student activities. Please remove it…

BobcatFans is about everything related to ‘Bobcat Country’. San Marcos and Texas State are synonymous with each other. As long as Texas State is in San Marcos where students, alumni and supporters of the university deal with their local law enforcement, BobcatFans is going to cover it. You might want to hold onto your hat because we will be diving into local politics from time to time as well. We have a mayoral race coming up in November and we plan on talking to the candidates. Call it being ‘Well Rounded’ and educated about your surroundings.

Got something to say?
