Bobcat Club Stock Rising
June 29, 2010
Four months ago, the Bobcat Club established its Leadership Council to assist in the solicitation of new and existing donors to the Texas State Athletics’ student-athlete scholarship fund. Today, the work of the Leadership Council is already paying off.
With the help of the Leadership Council, the Bobcat Club has added 152 new members over the past three months and already surpassed its membership totals from the 2009-10 fiscal year that ended in March.
“We are extremely thankful for the dedicated work of our Leadership Council members and their teams across the state,” said Chris Park, assistant athletic director for development. “Their hard work has helped propel our Bobcat Club donor base past last year’s total.”
The Texas State Athletics Department celebrated the work of the Leadership Council on Saturday, June 26 on the Champions Club Level in the West Side Complex of Bobcat Stadium and Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Field.
Several Leadership Council teams were recognized for their efforts in bringing new donors to Texas State Athletics.
Leadership Council member Brett Baker’s team, won the new donor contest, co-chair Don Fry’s team won the most new and renewed dollars raised award and Kailey Slone’s team won the most new dollars raised award.
“We are excited to continue our Bobcat Club fundraising efforts from now until March 2011 and see where we will end up,” Park said.
The Bobcat Club is comprised of donors who are Texas State alumni, fans, former student-athletes, coaches and friends who donate to support student-athlete scholarships. The Leadership Council consists of Bobcat Club donors from across the state who volunteer to solicit new donors by getting friends, family and alumni involved with Texas State Athletics.
